1973 Triumph X-75 Hurricane is cosmetically done. 18 months of stop start progress and it's ready to roar. And actually it fired up on the second kick. The carbs which are original are knackered so will replace them with new. Other than that all tests went well. Hopefully be ready for road testing in the next few weeks.

This will be up for sale later this year.

Shed time. Throttle cable and Carb spring replaced on the Commando. Pazon electronic ignition installed on the Triumph Hurricane. Coils in and new more compact rectifier mounted to allow carb breather hose to fit. HT leads next to be installed, then exhausts and then finally! gauges. Then it'll be a good going over to double check everything before start up..

Hurricane progress. Slowly coming together. Head is on, awaiting new valve adjusters then the rocker boxes will be ready. Carbs rebuilt. New tank decals arrived as the last lot were average. Wiring harness is ready. Awesome service from Burton Bike bits, British Spares and British Motorcycle Parts here in NZ. Headlamp on the way. Have been talking to the Craig Vetter about it - absolute top bloke.

Getting there..

Very cool little motorcycle display happening this weekend at the Tuesday Club in Auckland called the Motorhead Bike Show. Put together by Submachine magazine. Worth seeing and especially if you've had enough of cyclone talk..

Job done. Some outside work for a customer all completed. Turn signals installed. 2 x Switch gear wired in. Clunk from front forks fixed - extra bush in one shock, no oil in the other. Anti wet sump valve (wired into ignition) plumbed in. Carb tuned. Warning light issue sorted. A lot of wiring repairs. It's a 1972 Norton Commando 750 Combat bitsa but it goes hard and sounds awesome.

Sold! The 1973 Norton Commando 850 is off to its new home. Was a cool bike but at least I have my own Commando up and running now. Have a bit of work on customers bikes in the queue next. There will be photos of course.

Out at the quarterly vintage motorcycle gathering at Hobsonville Point. Great turn out with a good range of bikes. Some cool survivors. Perfect day for it.

Start up video of the 1968 Norton Commando we've got up for auction at the moment. One of the early ones. They sound really good in the original Atlas style pipes. They also weren't yet known as Fastbacks when they first came out.
