Four things that catch people out building a turbo manifold from steam pipe.

Steam pipe is sized by nominal bore, not outside diameter. A wastegate teed square to the collector fights the flow. Cylinders that fire back to back must never share a scroll. And a fl**ge that warps while you weld it leaves the whole manifold under permanent tension.
