Four Mk1s… each at different stages in the bodyshell restoration process 🛠️➡️ From a bare, stripped-down shell to a flawless finish ready for the oven, a classic Mini bodyshell restoration takes precision, patience, and a lot of skill.

Here is a quick look at how a project moves through our specialist workshop:
1️⃣ Shell Strip Out: The shell is stripped of all of its components.
2️⃣ Spot Blasting: Spot blasting the shell to reveal what’s under the paintwork.
3️⃣ Fabrication & Welding: Modifying and fitting of new panels, or repairing existing panels.
4️⃣ Prep: Sanding back to bare metal, epoxy/etch prime and prep and prime shell ready for paint.

It’s a massive undertaking, but keeping these icons on the road makes every single hour worth it.

Which stage do you think requires the most patience? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Another one? Thank you! 😉 When you love a Sportspack, one is never enough...

Here are just five of the TWELVE Mini Cooper Sportspacks we have at the workshop right now! 😍

For the Mini enthusiasts out there, the Sportspack was first offered with the launch of the Mk7s back in 1996, costing buyers £800 at the dealership. 😱

The easiest way to spot a genuine factory Sportspack compared to a standard classic Mini? The arches! They are much bigger and wider to accommodate their larger wheels. They also feature a chromed exhaust tailpipe, a modified steering rack, and rear wheel spacers. 🛞

Which colour Sportspack are you taking home? 👇

This Austin Morris has recently had an engine refresh ✨

We’re very familiar with this classic Mini, as it had a full restoration from us back in 2019 🥰

It’s returned to our workshop for a refresh on its engine, which we didn’t work on when it came in to us for its restoration. This included things like reworking the cylinder head and engine block, a gearbox overhaul, and changing the final drive 🛠️

The Mini Pickup began production back in 1961, with different models getting released until mid-1983. 🛠️

But this Pickup that we’ve recently prepped and primed is a bit different… 🤔

Can you spot what’s different about this pickup compared to the other 60,000 that were produced? Let us know in the comments! 👇
