Four Mk1s… each at different stages in the bodyshell restoration process 🛠️➡️ From a bare, stripped-down shell to a flawless finish ready for the oven, a classic Mini bodyshell restoration takes precision, patience, and a lot of skill.
Here is a quick look at how a project moves through our specialist workshop:
1️⃣ Shell Strip Out: The shell is stripped of all of its components.
2️⃣ Spot Blasting: Spot blasting the shell to reveal what’s under the paintwork.
3️⃣ Fabrication & Welding: Modifying and fitting of new panels, or repairing existing panels.
4️⃣ Prep: Sanding back to bare metal, epoxy/etch prime and prep and prime shell ready for paint.
It’s a massive undertaking, but keeping these icons on the road makes every single hour worth it.
