Astra K 1.4 petrol turbo (B14XFT) in with reduced power mode
Error codes P0089, P00C6, P228C. All codes related to low fuel pressure in the direct injection high pressure fuel system.

After inspecting the live data it was clear the system only had 4 bar of fuel pressure rather than the desired 50 bar of fuel pressure. There were no obvious visual issues with the high pressure fuel pump after it was as removed for inspection so I moved on to removing the valve cover to inspect the camshaft lobe and roller shim. That’s when I found the roller shim had broken up and in turn was no longer able to push the high pressure pump down.

The roller shim was replaced, all debris removed and the oil and filter changed.

The engine ran nicely and the customer drove away happy

CAMBELT ALERT🚨Vauxhall, Peugeot & Citroen, 1.2 Petrol, 2014-2024!
This Cambelt runs in oil and can shred its fibres causing the oil pump strainer to block!

Free cambelt (wetbelt) inspection at VAUXWORKS

If the belt is found to be swollen beyond the measuring tool limit the belt will need to be replaced and the oil pump strainer cleaned of belt fibre particles. The sump will be refitted and the engine refilled with new oil and a new oil filter.

Vivaro in suffering with AdBlue issues.

The owner had topped up the AdBlue as the
350 miles until no-start refused to go out and the countdown had begun.

Reluctant to go back to the dealer the customer called myself at VAUXWORKS to help sort the issue.

I used main dealer level diagnostic tools to re-initialise the adblue tank.

The warning light and message went out and the owner could get back to work the following day.

Vivaro 1.6 BiTurbo finally found it’s way to us after the customer had struggled to get it sorted elsewhere. It was lacking power, the EML on and a turbo under boost code stored. Because we have a clear understanding of how the BiTurbo system works we were able to diagnose the smaller of the two turbos had failed. The subframe was removed and the turbo was replaced. The engines now back at full power and the customer drove away happy

2016 Vauxhall Astra K came to us after a quote of £7500 😳 by the main dealer to replace the engine as it had a cylinder 1 misfire due to piston skirt failure. They wasn’t prepared to rebuild the engine (I’ll let you make you own assumptions about that) But we were and quoted £1995 to replace all 4 pistons and rebuild with all new bolts and gaskets. The engine started on the button and the customer went away very happy.

Insignia 1.8 petrol in with the EML/SVS light. Quick computer plug in showed the MAP Thermostat heater element had burnt out. This is one we see a lot so there was no need for electrical fault finding just a quick visual inspection to check nothing was unplugged or any wires damaged. A new MAP thermostat was sourced and fitted.
