A customer called me saying his wife’s Ford had a rattle/vibration when she turned the a/c on and could I help. I went round and found the engine cooling fan motor had excessive play/wear in it and it was rattling about when it switched on.
A new cooling fan and controller fitted and it’s all nice and quiet again.

A customers Skoda rapid alternator belt shredded and he called me round to fix it.
I found the engine oil cooler that’s above the alternator belt was leaking oil from a failed seal and it had been dripping onto the belt causing it to fail. I also found the free wheeling pulley on the alternator was seized so a new pulley, belt and oil seal fitted and it’s back on the road and charging at 13.90 volts.

A customers little Vw polo needed a full service, new front exhaust sleeve (old one corroded and loose) but the first job was to replace the broken plastic bonnet release lever so i could open the bonnet.
As you can see by the gap in the spark plugs they were well overdue replacing. It’s all done service book stamped and back on the road.

A customer had a little argument with a wooden post in his Ford kuga and managed to damage the o/s/r door. The cheapest and quickest way was to get a good quality second hand colour matched door. I went round today and replaced it for him as you can see in the pictures it matched up and fitted perfectly. Another happy sdg autos customer.

A customer called me asking if I could look at the air conditioning on her (new to her) little Vw polo as it wasn’t working.
I went round and found the metal pipes going to the condenser had snapped off (looks like it’s had a bit of a shunt) so a shiny new condenser fitted and it’s all booked in tomorrow at a local garage to have an a/c re-gas.

A customers little mk1 fiat cinquecento wouldn’t start and he called me round to have a look. I found there was no spark after a couple of tests i traced the problem to a failed tdc sensor a new sensor ordered and fitted and it’s back up and running fine again.

Back to finish the Nissan welding today I had to repair the o/s/f floor then onto repairing the o/s outer sill and n/s/r outer sill. The car is also having some bodywork done so the bodyshop are going to stone chip and colour match both the outer sills and cavity wax all the back of all the new panels once the car has been painted.

I managed to dodge the rain today a local bodyshop called me in to weld up this old Nissan 200 SX. I started on the n/s/f chassis it’s all-ready had some welding done but unfortunately that’s corroded away as well. Some nice thick 2mm plates made up and welded on and the n/s/f is all done then on to the o/s/f I’ve made a start and will be back tomorrow to carry on with the rest of it.
