Here at Sovereign Motor Engineers we now have the opportunity to recruit a new team member.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for an individual who has recently started their career within the Motor industry. We are searching for a Junior Mechanic/Technician who has anything from 6 months to a years experience.

We are a small family run business that provides services including MOTs, Car Servicing and general repairs. We focus highly on customer service and do everything possible to provide a service that our customers are looking for. We have a wide and varied customer base covering the majority of makes and models of cars seen in the UK.

We do also specialise in Classic cars, meaning the work can be varied and interesting.

The candidate will know their way around a vehicle and be able to carry out daily tasks such as Servicing, brake work and suspension work. The Candidate must be willing to learn and further their knowledge guided by our very experienced existing team.

This is a great opportunity for a Junior lever technician to better their knowledge and skills, aiming towards becoming fully trained.

The Candidate will have qualifications to a minimum of NVQ Level 2.

We offer a competitive salary, normal pension and holiday in line with the statutory employment regulations.

This very pretty and iconic 1950s MG TD was delivered down to us after the new owner had purchased and attempted a left to right hand drive conversion. Admitting defeat he got the team here at Sovereigns to finish off what he had started, which also included a brake rebuild, wiring repairs, rebushing of suspension and getting the engine running sweetly. All work completed the owner was over the moon with finally getting his car on the road 2 years after he had started.....hopefully we get a bit more sunshine this summer for him to enjoy it!

Wow! Its been a long time since we last posted on social media!
We've been quietly working away on many projects. I shall be adding pics and descriptions of what we've been up to in the next few posts.....bare with and enjoy.....

Starting with...
We had the pleasure of working on this beautiful and historically important 1945 Humber Snipe Staff Car, delivered new to the TAF (Tactical Air Force), seeing out the back end of WW2.
The vehicle was delivered to us having been in storage for 2 years or so, the owner complained that it had never driven in a straight line and was a handful. Into the workshop it came and time was spent identifying issues which included play in several steering and suspension components, with a supply of genuine new old stock parts from WW2 delivered the staff car was sorted out (we did a number of other jobs...too many to list) and given back to a very happy owner, just in time to be driven to Normandy for the 80th D-Day landings memorial.

Anddddd..... that folks is what happens with lack of engine oil. Terminal damage to piston, conrod and engine.CHECK YOUR...

GOOD NEWS!
Our electric supplier has pulled their finger out and we are now back with electric.
We will be open again tomorrow morning at 8am as normal. Over the next 2 days we shall contact any customers with cancelled appointments to rebook.

With the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Sovereign Motor Engineers has decided to shut its doors on Monday 19th September 2022 for the state funeral.
This will allow us and our staff to be able to reflect and pay our respects to our past Queen.

We will be open once again on Tuesday 20th September.

Vehicle came in with an oil pressure light illuminated.....not sure its been serviced recently! The way this filter has sucked in caused poor oil pressure and can prove to be catastrophic for engines.
We always advise on an annual oil change, at least this will stop unrepairable damage!
