Rangerover evoque rare petrol 2.0 turbo came to us with a issue of struggling to start a constant crank position sensor fault stored many auto gearbox & control system faults, after much testing we found the crank position sensor to be fitted the wrong way around although it looked to be in the correct direction & more so looks the wrong way around in the correct position due to the shape.

Now back through its mot as failed due to management lights plus running issues & back home with the customer.

It's not often I find something that amazes me but yesterday was 1 of those days, a customer booked in for a service on their ds3 as they was told it was serviced prior to purchase but had no proof, we offer multiple levels of servicing but after talking the customer through the options they chose the basic diesel service

Audi s3 rear subframe removed with Carl Griffiths at DSR fabrication & restoration to be replaced with a lighter aluminium version once he has completed the restoration in the area it mounts to

Transit awaiting injectors to return for fitting & programming

Great design work here 2019 mercedes A200 1.3 TCe less than 50k on the clocks & suffering major head gasket failure, once stripped down it's like it's been designed to fail with a fully open deck block so not a great chance of seeling the gasket seeing as the head bolts are nowhere near close enough to the cylinders to give a secure clamp load for the cylinder head to block.

Further more despite being a 4 cylinder engine with 4 intake ports it only has 3 exhaust ports to disburse the combustion chamber heat with the 4th sharing a port to disburse it's exhaust gasses & funnily it's between cylinders 3 & 4 where it shares a port that the head gasket had mostly failed however all 4 cylinders was taking in water leaving the car unable to start full stop

Unfortunately the is not alot we can do about the design & I'm sure someone thought it was a great design for a modern day vehicle & felt it had its purpose, we can however strip check replace all necessary faulty parts & get our customer back on the road ASAP& so we have been in today to get it stripped so we are able to drop the cylinder head for refurbishment & get all necessary parts on order.

Round 2 on another zafira interior heating problem this time a combination of heater control flap & blocked heater matrix on this zafira gsi, all sorted & finished off with fresh pollen filter for better air quality & flow

Peugeot bipper clutch finished & back with owner

Land Rover discovery rear brakes stripped down to check handbrake fault & replace worn discs with fresh pads

Mini recovered In with coolant loss issue & a few minor other jobs to do on it
