MOTORCYCLE WEEKEND WEATHER (26th/27th September 2026).
A reversal in fortunes this weekend. What we would prefer as Sunday weather will be on Saturday instead. Can't win them all.
Saturday will be dry with a light breeze wandering randomly from southwest to southeast throughout the day. There is an expectation for some extended periods of sunshine, rather than the overcast we've seen this last week. Temperatures will start the day at 6c/7c, rising to 19c/20c during the afternoon, then falling back to 11c/12c at midnight.
Sunday begins well with just a slight chance of shower activity, but the forecast indicates a rising risk to 60% during the afternoon. This produced by a shift in the wind direction to a more decisive south west from south east, bringing rain into the district possibly in heavier bursts at times. This should clear before midnight. The wind could gust into the mid-20's(mph) from the middle morning until early afternoon. Temperatures will range from 10c/11c at dawn, rising to 18c/19c during the afternoon. By the witching hour, figures will be back down to around 13c.
Still respectable temperatures for this time of year. Let's hope it stays that way.

MOTORCYCLE WEATHER (21st - 25th September 2026).
It looks like a pleasant autumnal week coming up. Minimal amounts of wet stuff, if any.
Monday will be dry and sunny with little in the way of cloud. Light omnidirectional winds will make it feel quite warm with hardly any real air movement. Temperatures will begin the day at around 9c, rising through the morning to achieve at least 22c during the afternoon. Midnight sees 15c/16c on the thermometer.
Tuesday is expected to produce a misty start until sun-up, with a temperature of 13c initially. With virtually no discernible wind again, temperatures will rise to 23c/24c under sunny skies with cloud drifting about lazily. No rain expected. Temperatures finish at midnight with 16c/17c, providing warm conditions again.
Wednesday will have a slight breeze, but direction will be travelling the dial again, so that no particular compass point will be attained. Conditions will be a mix of cloud and sunshine again, with just a minimal risk of light rain for brief periods. Temperatures start around 14c at dawn, rising to 20c/21c during the afternoon. Midnight is showing a forecasted temperature of 9c/10c, in contrast to the previous night.
Thursday looks like the best day, with clear skies for a large part of daylight hours. No showers indicated, and a more concerted wind strength will produce a breeze from the bottom half of the compass without too specific an origin. Temperatures 9c/10c at dawn, rising under sunny skies to 21c/23c during the afternoon. Figures drop back to 13c/14c at midnight.
Friday sees the wind finally make it's mind up, and arrive from the south, swivelling to south westerly by evening. Strength will be light but noticeable. Mostly dry with broken cloud and sunny intervals once again. Temperatures running from 12c/13c at dawn, rising to 20c/21c during the afternoon. At midnight the temperature is forecast to be 12c.

MOTORCYCLE WEEKEND WEATHER (19th/20th September 2026).
A disappointing Friday, followed by a similar Saturday I'm sorry to say.
The day is expected to be a fairly grey affair, still affected by the Jetstream which is pushing weather systems towards the UK at 130mph; (High altitude so don't worry). Some sunshine may break through at times, but nothing of real note. Winds south west to west south-west and very gusty at times (30mph+). Rain is likely in bursts with mostly showers rather than anything heavy. It should become drier towards nightfall. Temperatures will range from 15c/16c at dawn, rising to 18c/19c before falling back to 15c at midnight. Fairly level figures in spite of the wind strength.

MOTORCYCLE WEATHER (14th - 18th September 2026)
A new format is being used by the Met Office to increase forecast accuracy(?). I'm not convinced yet, but we'll see how it goes.
Monday will begin with mist in some places. No immediate signs of sunshine and a good possibility of light rain through from dawn until lunch time at least. Winds south westerly with a light breeze. There could be cloud breaks later on, but generally showers may appear randomly during the afternoon. Nothing heavy indicated. Temperatures running from 17c at dawn; 23c during the afternoon falling back to 18c at midnight.
Tuesday is showing another wet start with risk of rain at 60%. This decreases to 10% by lunch time, but stays the same until midnight. Some sunny intervals possible, but nothing spectacular indicated. Winds south west veering to north west and gusting to the high 20's(mph) at times. Temperatures 18c at dawn; 20c during the afternoon then 14c at the witching hour.
Wednesday looks a bit more cheerful. A good chance of some decent sunny intervals or longer periods of sunshine. Shower risk still there, but a lowly 10% for most of the day. It might stay dry (hopes). Winds light and west to north westerly. Significantly cooler temperatures with 12c at dawn, rising to 18c at very best during the afternoon, then dropping to 13c at midnight.
Thursday will be a more lively day, with gusty west to south westerly winds developing, driving in rain early on and into the morning. By mid-day there should be some signs of cloud breaks and brightness forthcoming, and with luck a drier afternoon and early evening. A minor risk of shower activity during the evening shouldn't spoil things. Temperatures 13c at dawn, rising to a maximum of 19c. By midnight 13c will be back with us.
Friday may be the best day. Shower risk remains low although not completely absent. Broken cloud and sunny intervals are forecast with that west to south westerly wind just popping in with the odd surprise high 20's(mph) gust. Temperatures 11c at dawn, rising to highs of 16c/17c during the afternoon. At midnight, figures are back down to 14c/15c. A cooler scenario on the way? Keep in touch. Have a good week. Take care.

MOTORCYCLE WEEKEND WEATHER (12th/13th September 2026).
Quite a changeable period over the next two days, with conditions not quite polar opposites, but differing widely.
Saturday will begin with light cloud and sunny intervals, contributing to a dry morning with a light southerly wind, and temperatures rising nicely from 11c to 20c by lunchtime. After lunchtime there is a rising expectation for some rain, probably showery and raising the risk to 20% during the afternoon. By evening, there's every probability of some serious rain appearing, becoming more noticeable moving on towards midnight. Risk will then be 60%. Wind direction will veer to west south-west at the same time with gusting to 30mph intermittently. Afternoon to evening temperatures will run from 20c to 18c.
Sunday will be suffering from the remnants of a wet night, but things are expected to improve gradually following a misty start. A fairly consistent west to south westerly wind will produce less gusts, and drive in some pleasant conditions for the afternoon. By lunchtime shower risk will be down to 20% and thereafter it should be warm and dry with some good periods of sunshine. Temperatures will be fairly level with 18c at dawn, rising to 22c during the pm. By midnight, we'll be back to 18c on the dial. Humidity may produce some misty patches during the evening.
So two fair bits of weather with a wet sandwich in the middle.

MOTORCYCLE WEEKEND WEATHER (5th/6th September 2026).
Looking like a fairly settled weekend. High pressure nudging in for the next two days.
Saturday could be the best day on the two, but there's good prospects for both days with plenty of sunny intervals or more well defined sunshine. A light westerly airflow will affect Saturday into the evening, before moving to a southerly direction. Shower risk

MOTORCYCLE WEATHER (Tuesday 1st - Friday 4th September 2026).
Another month starts with rain, after the long hot days of summer. Hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend.
Tuesday starts with good intent, a low shower risk and sunny intervals. Winds generally south westerly and light. Rain becomes increasingly likely around lunch time, as risk rises to 50% for a couple of hours then takes on a rollercoaster effect, dropping during the afternoon before rising to 30% during the late evening. More persistent rain may come along around midnight. Temperatures will range from 11c at dawn, rising to 20c then falling to 16c by midnight.
Wednesday could be duck weather, with forecasts of a 60% - 70% risk of rain until late in the afternoon. There should be breaks in the rain with sunny intervals. Winds generally south westerly and very lively, with gusts topping 30mph at times. Late afternoon sees more chance of drier interludes. Temperatures ranging from 16c at dawn to 21c during the afternoon. By midnight, it'll be a sticky 18c with 91% humidity.
Thursday will be the best day, with shower risk 20% at worst throughout the day. Plenty of opportunity for good sunny periods, as that south west to westerly airflow rattles along with strong gusts in the middle part of the day. Temperatures 18c at dawn; 20c/22c during the afternoon, then dropping to 18c again at midnight.
Friday is looking largely overcast with little chance of sunshine and varying levels of cloud. Rain is likely, with shower risk at 40%-50% throughout. Nothing special to commend it, other than fairly level temperatures; 18c/21c/17c (dawn/mid-afternoon/midnight). Winds identical to the Thursday data; Strength slightly less but still gusty at times and remaining south west to westerly.
No sign of that September heatwave the popular press is talking about yet. We'll see.😎

MOTORCYCLE WEATHER (24th - 28th August 2026).
Rain is definitely coming this week. Expect short sharp bursts or thundery downpours. I'll detail the daily risk as usual.
Monday will be dry with a 5% chance of rain. Winds easterly with a noticeable breeze. Generally sunny with light cloud. Temperatures ranging from 11c/12c at dawn, to between 21c and 24c during the afternoon, then dropping back to 15c/16c at midnight.
Tuesday shows the first signs of a change. More cloudy than Monday; Still sunny intervals but a 10% to 30% chance of showers driven on that easterly airflow. Rain could occur at any time during the day. Temperatures will range from 12c to 14c at dawn, rising to 24c/25c during the afternoon. By midnight, it will be quite warm with 18c expected. A good scenario for thunder.
