BYD has unveiled its new flagship electric SUV, the Atto 8.

The seven-seat model offers up to 405 miles of claimed range and introduces BYD’s Flash Charging technology to Europe.

Under the stated conditions, its 115kWh battery can charge from 10-70% in five minutes and 10-97% in nine minutes

A 775PS all-wheel-drive version will also be available.

Volkswagen is replacing the ID 4 and ID 5 with a new ID Tiguan.

The electric SUV will be sold alongside the existing Tiguan and is expected to offer around 350 miles of range, with pricing starting below £40,000.

An official unveiling is due in October, with sales expected to begin in early 2027.

Volkswagen’s first electric supermini offers up to 281 miles of range, two battery options and a 441-litre boot.

The average price now stands at 199.18p per litre, with a typical 55-litre fill-up costing almost £110.

UK diesel is now the most expensive in Europe, according to the RAC.

The average price has reached 198.32p per litre, with a 55-litre fill-up now costing around £109.

Diesel has risen by more than 14ppl since the start of September and is now close to the previous UK record.

For fleets and commercial vehicle operators, that means even more pressure on running costs.
