Please do not book your driving test through any third party. That includes individuals, companies, websites, bots, or cancellation apps.
This has been talked about for months, yet people are still taking the risk.

The DVSA are continuing to cancel driving tests that have been obtained through third parties and cancellation services.

I know what some of you are thinking…
“But Testi only sends me a notification.”

The problem is that these apps still direct you to the DVSA booking system, and the DVSA can see how appointments have been obtained.

I completely understand the frustration. Waiting times are long, everyone wants a cancellation, and everyone is desperate to get a test date.
But the reality is that we’re all in the same position. Nobody is more entitled to a test than anyone else.

The only place you should book your driving test or look for cancellations is through the official DVSA website.

No shortcuts, third parties or cancellation apps.
It may sound harsh, but over the past few days my inbox has been flooded with messages from learners whose tests have been cancelled.

This isn’t new information. The DVSA, driving instructors and learner driver groups have been warning about this for a long time.
Please don’t risk losing your test fee or your test appointment.

If your test is cancelled because it was obtained through a third party, you have no appeal, no refund and no special treatment.

You’ll simply find yourself back at square one, competing with thousands of other learners for another available test.

Also a few messages were regarding
learners who paid individuals on Facebook or WhatsApp up to £300 upfront to “secure” a driving test… only to be blocked as soon as the money was sent.
Please don’t let desperation make you an easy target.
Don’t get scammed.
Use the official GOV.UK booking service and nothing else.

It’s the safest, simplest and only place you should be booking your driving test.

It really isn’t worth the risk.

🚨 CAN’T BOOK YOUR DRIVING TEST? SEEING THIS MESSAGE? 🚨

If you try to book a driving test and get the message:

“You can’t book a test for this category. Please choose another type of test or contact the DVSA on 0300 200 1122

Don’t panic.
In many cases, this happens because your licence number or booking access has been restricted and the DVSA needs to verify your details before allowing you to continue.

This can sometimes happen where third party booking services, cancellation apps, bots or unverified booking websites have been used.

The DVSA has been taking action against misuse of the booking system and thousands of accounts have been affected.

☎️ The solution is usually straightforward.

Call the DVSA on 0300 200 1122

They will normally ask a few security questions to confirm your identity and can explain why the restriction has been applied.
If appropriate, they can help restore access and advise you on booking your test.

A good reminder for all learners:

✔ Book through the official GOV.UK website whenever possible

✔ Be cautious about sharing your driving licence details with third party booking companies

✔ If something doesn’t look right, contact the DVSA directly before paying anyone money

More changes to driving test bookings are coming 🚘

From 9 June, you’ll only be able to change your test booking to the 3 nearest test centres.

📣📣New driving test booking rules: action being taken

As you know, from 12 May 2026 only learner drivers have been allowed to book, change, swap or cancel a car driving test.

The use of any bots or automated searching of our service also breaks our new terms and conditions.

“We've moved quickly to enforce the new rules and continue to do so. Here's what we've done so far.

1,178 driving licence numbers suspended from online booking
Where our monitoring detects unusual activity on the booking service, we will suspend access to book, change or cancel driving tests online.

We’ve already done this 1,178 times for driving licence numbers involved. We email learners to tell them when we’ve done this.

They will be able to call us if they need to book or manage their test.

Apps reported to Apple and Google
We have reported a number of third-party apps to Apple and Google for breaching both our terms and conditions and the platforms' own developer guidelines.

We are working with both platforms to have non-compliant apps removed.

Social media accounts being taken down
We are reporting social media accounts and groups that advertise services that are against the law or break our terms and conditions.

Platforms are already removing accounts as a result, and we will continue to report others.

Businesses continuing to use bots have been suspended
We have suspended 7 business accounts that breached our terms and conditions. They were (unsuccessfully) trying to book car driving tests.

We will not hesitate to suspend further accounts where we find the rules are being broken”.

Make sure tests are accessible only to learners 🔐

Provide a fairer booking system ✅

You may be able to swap your car driving test with another learner driver by phone if you both already have a test booked and want each other's test slot.
