On this day 15 years ago, I passed my final test to become a driving instructor. A year of hard work paid off and I’ve never been more pleased with the direction I decided to take my professional life.

I’ve had the honour of meeting and getting to know so many people in a way that their own family and friends don’t get to see them. I’ve watched so many people work through their fears and come out the other end with a pink license and confidence in their ability to do something they never thought was possible.

Here’s to another 15 years!!

I’ve been to the Colwick test centre a few times recently and these signs have been up. Seeing these stats in black and white frustrates me no end when I have pupils trying to get tests.

A company has been commissioned to build a new system for booking tests and hopefully a lot of this will change as a result (at least the no shows).

If you are thinking of taking your test in your own car, please make sure it’s fit for purpose!!
