Congratulations Ryan - First time pass, 2 driving faults

The faults don't matter, the passing does. You can parallel park, but when you touched the kerb on the test; changed gear, looked all around, moved forward, reversed with more steering - GET on with it technique in action - Well done, focused on the drive and not the fault.

Such a relaxing drive which "just felt like driving", exactly how you knew you were ready to pass the test.

Enjoy your new car, you've worked hard for it, chosen a beautiful one until the day the insurance comes down on the Mustang. One day...

To the student who needs to see this today.

Or the parent of a student who's helping them drive, or the husband, friend or other family member.

Or even something outside of driving; a hobby, a habit or whatever it may be.

"Get on with it", make a start and then make it better. It will get better with trying, but first you need to make the move and try.

Practice makes permanent as a student told me today. Love that phrase, because things don't need to be perfect, they need to be practiced. Practice helps cement what's good, what works. It takes time.

A deadline is never a welcome added pressure, but baby won't wait!!

It's been a pleasure teaching you, you've worked so hard. I'm glad you enjoyed lessons, enjoyed driving after a shaky start with another instructor. I'll miss our lessons.

There isn't a 6 month wait for driving tests, only a 3 week wait when you are willing to look, refresh and look again regularly

Does anyone know a professional; I’ve made a mistake. I tried to do it myself and it's all gone wrong.

Cheap Driving Lessons

We’ve had a few new students join us recently who were completely frustrated with their past instructors. They dealt with lateness, bad attitudes, and sometimes even shouting. As your local instructor, we wanted to help you to make a better choice.

Driving lessons are a service, not a standard box of cereal. Just like picking a hairdresser, a tattoo artist, or a school tutor; different experience means different quality.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟯 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿
Check the Badge before you hand over any money, always look at the badge displayed in their windscreen every lesson.

• ADI (Green Badge): Fully qualified. They have passed all their exams, are approved by the DVSA, and are regularly tested to make sure they can actually teach.

• PDI (Pink Badge): A trainee. They have passed their own driving tests but are still learning how to teach others.

• The Fakes (No Badge): Operating illegally. They have no legal insurance to teach you and have not had background criminal record (DBS) checks.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 "𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿" 𝗨𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲
An experienced instructor spots mistakes quickly. They know why you are doing it, how to fix it, and how to explain it simply. Because you learn faster, you need fewer lessons.

Look at the total math, not just the hourly price:
Quality Instructor: 25 lessons at £67 = £1,675 total
"Cheap" Instructor: 30 lessons at £60 = £1,800 total.

Congratulations Sam passing with a single driving fault today, on the line for a reverse bay park. A beautiful "peaceful" drive from you both the examiner and I said.

Nottingham did it's best to test you; cyclists, slow vehicles, lorry's around us, road works, blue lights!

Taking everything you learned about safety and applying it to the moment. GET-on with it, Tick-Tick & Cautious Reliance were your three main cognitive techniques.

Thank you for your legacy with "Cautious Reliance" to help future students. Every student provides something for the future, to pass it forwards and it's a great technique we developed.

For someone who assumed they would never drive, you have a few people to thank who pushed (persuaded) you to take lesson, helped you practice between lessons. For someone who assumed they would never drive, you should be so proud.

"Driving isn't for me, it's for others"

A line which our resident Therapist Chris Allsopp ADI hears all the time. After their pass today, they now how have methods to help their agoraphobia, anxiety and driving for the rest of their life.

In December, we received an email from someone who had ignored driving all their life, for more than 30 years. Who didn't try because it wasn't for them, to quote them "me becoming a 'driver' was about as likely as me becoming an astronaut and I gave it about the same amount of thought."

However, living in a rural setting, they really wanted to be able to drive to the shop and to their horses & donkeys each day. That's all. It took a while before they emailed, but the bravely did in December.

They started with Chris a couple of weeks later and step-by-step developed their understanding and confidence. Created a safe environment of control.

5 months of mixed therapy & driving lessons has got them from never considering being a driver, to passing their driving test first time.

They also have the ability to check-in anytime with Chris, as all ex-students do for a catch-up and check-up on how life is progressing.
