We thought the garage was closed on a Sunday, until we checked the CCTV 🤔🤷‍♂️

A Kia Sportage came into the workshop with a worn clutch that was causing poor performance and difficulty changing gears this week, after inspection, a full clutch replacement was required to get the vehicle back to operating as it should! 👌

Many drivers are surprised to learn that clutches are not lifetime components. Every time you pull away, change gear, or hold the vehicle on the clutch, friction material wears away little by little. Over time this leads to clutch slip, reduced power transfer, difficulty selecting gears, and eventually complete failure! 😨

If you’ve noticed clutch slip, a high biting point, burning smells or difficulty changing gears, it may be time for an inspection before the problem leaves you stranded! 📲✨

Can you believe it, yesterday marked one year since we opened the doors to our garage and shared this post! 👏🥹

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how much has happened in just 12 months. While the business didn’t start here, we’d already spent years building our reputation as mobile mechanics, opening the garage was a huge milestone and the beginning of an exciting new chapter 🎉

Over the past year we’ve continued to grow, welcomed new team members, expanded what we can offer our customers, and had the privilege of working on hundreds of vehicles.

Like any growing business, there have been challenges along the way, but seeing the garage develop over the last year has made all the hard work worthwhile…

Most importantly, thank you to our customers. Over the years, many of you have become much more than customers, you’ve become friends. The trust you’ve placed in us, the recommendations you’ve given, and the support you’ve shown means more than you’ll ever know! 💛

From our mobile mechanic days through to our first year in the garage, you’ve been a huge part of our journey, and we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you…

We’d also like to thank everyone who has helped us along the way, from fellow local businesses and suppliers to friends, family, and those who’ve supported us behind the scenes. We’re lucky to be surrounded by such a great community 👏

To think that one year ago we were moving into an empty unit, and today we’re looking back on a successful first year in the garage with an expanding team and a busy workshop, is something we’re very proud of… ✨

Thank you for being part of the journey so far. Here’s to year two and everything that comes next! 😆👏

We recently carried out an ABS sensor replacement on this Porsche Cayenne ✅

So, what does an ABS sensor actually do? 🤔

Your vehicle’s ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) sensors monitor the speed of each wheel and send that information to the car’s safety systems. This helps prevent the wheels from locking up during heavy braking, giving you better control and stability on the road.

When an ABS sensor fails, you may notice:
⚠️ ABS warning light on the dashboard
⚠️ Traction control or stability control warnings
⚠️ Reduced braking assistance in slippery conditions

Replacing a faulty ABS sensor restores accurate wheel speed readings and helps keep your vehicle’s braking and safety systems working as they should.

Another happy customer safely back on the road! 🚗💨

That little light on your dashboard might seem harmless now… but ignoring it could turn a small issue into a costly repair! 🫣

Whether it’s:
🔧 Engine management light
🛑 Brake warning light
🔋 Battery light
🌡️ Temperature warning
🛢️ Oil pressure light

…your car is trying to tell you something.

Catching problems early can help:
✅ Prevent breakdowns
✅ Avoid expensive repair bills
✅ Keep your car safe and reliable
✅ Save time and stress later on

A flashing or persistent warning light should always be checked as soon as possible, even if the car still feels “fine” to drive…

At LT Mechanics, we can carry out a full diagnostic check to quickly identify the issue and get you back on the road with confidence 🚗💨

This Jeep Renegade came in for its MOT and unfortunately didn’t pass this time 😓

The issue? Worn rear trailing arm bushes ❌

🤔 What are trailing arm bushes?
They’re small rubber components that sit between the suspension arm and the vehicles chassis. Think of them as cushions that absorb movement and vibration....

👉 What do they do?
Trailing arm bushes play a key role in keeping your wheels stable and aligned. They allow the suspension to move smoothly while reducing noise, vibration, and harshness when driving.

⚠️ Why do they need replacing?
Over time, these bushes wear out, crack or become loose. When that happens, it can lead to:

▪️ Poor handling and reduced stability
▪️ Uneven tyre wear
▪️ Knocking or clunking noises from the rear
▪️ Increased stress on other suspension parts

For safety and performance, worn bushes should always be replaced - especially if picked up during an MOT!

✅ We’ll be getting this Jeep back on the road safely in no time!

📱 If you’re noticing unusual noises or your MOT is due soon, get in touch with us today!

Your safety is our priority! 🧑‍🔧✨

Another happy customer after we recently carried out a master cylinder replacement on their Skoda Kamiq 👌

🤔 What is a master cylinder?
It’s a main part of your braking system...
When you press the brake pedal, it pushes brake fluid through the system so your car can slow down and stop safely.

⚠️ Why do they need replacing?
Over time they can wear out or start to leak, and when that happens, the brakes won’t work as they should.

You might notice:
👉 A soft or spongy brake pedal
👉 Reduced braking performance
👉 The pedal not feeling quite right
👉 In worst cases, brake failure

🛠️ What we did:
We replaced the faulty master cylinder, bled the brake system and made sure everything was working properly again - keeping the customer safe on the road!

💡 Top tip:
If your brakes feel different in any way, it’s always best to get them checked sooner rather than later...

Need your brakes checked? Drop us a message, give us a call or pop in - we’re always happy to help! 😁
