⚠️ 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗜𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘… 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦.

This VW Transporter came into Autotech for what should have been a routine oil change.

Once the engine undertray was removed, we uncovered 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 underneath, including areas that were badly weakened and clearly unsafe to ignore.

The worrying part?

This vehicle had reportedly passed its MOT elsewhere with 𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. 😳

We’re not here to name and shame, but this is a frightening reminder of why proper checks matter.

Some issues are hidden behind covers and undertrays, and if they’re missed, they can quickly become a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻.

A huge 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 from 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐞 to everyone who sponsored them, supported them and sent such kind words ahead of the weekend. It genuinely meant a lot. ❤️

We’re delighted to say the team 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 £𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭, which made completing the challenge feel even more worthwhile.

𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲, but every one of them pushed through, crossed the finish line and earned those medals. 💪🏅

And, as though that wasn’t enough for one weekend…
Just one day later, 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧 were back at it again, taking on the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, a 𝟐𝟔.𝟐-𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤/𝐫𝐮𝐧 with a brutal 𝟒,𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, starting and finishing in the White Peak village of Alstonefield.

Once again, both completed it in fantastic time and came away with their well-earned badges. 👏

They’re doing it in support of 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗯𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲, Sam’s niece, who has Sanfilippo Syndrome.

The fundraising total is currently at 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 £𝟲𝟴𝟬, but Simon and the team would absolutely love to reach the £1,000 target before the event begins.
