Another one rescued from a questionable remap… 👀🔧

This VW T4 Transporter 2.5 TDI 88bhp came in already mapped… but it wasn’t a pretty sight.

❌ Poor remap
❌ Pump timing off the graph
❌ Underboosting
❌ Dirty MAF sensor
❌ Smoking under load

The result? A strange power graph with 113bhp and 272Nm.

After putting everything right, setting the engine up properly and giving it a custom calibration, the difference speaks for itself…

✅ 125bhp
✅ 281Nm
✅ Smooth, progressive torque delivery
✅ No smoke
✅ Drives exactly as it should!

This is why we always say a remap is only as good as the condition of the vehicle. Getting the basics right first makes all the difference. 💪

🟢 Another Green VW T4 In at PP Tuning! 💪🚐

This VW T4 came to us after the owner fitted a set of uprated injectors. Unfortunately, ever since the upgrade, it had been dropping straight into limp mode under load.

📉 As you can see from the first dyno graph, the power just falls off a cliff – no power, no performance, and not exactly the safest thing to be driving.

The customer brought it to PP Tuning, where we worked our magic with a Pendle Performance custom calibration. 🔧

✅ No more limp mode
✅ No excessive smoke
✅ Smooth, reliable power delivery

Final Results:
🔥 131bhp
💥 281Nm Torque

🇯🇵 Fresh from Japan… and just in time! 👌

Next through the workshop was this very clean 2006 Subaru Forester, recently imported from Japan. 🇯🇵

It originally came in needing a little bit of exhaust work, including a replacement rear silencer. While it was here, the owner also asked us to check what would be needed for full underbody protection.

The timing couldn’t have been better.

Unlike UK vehicles, Japanese imports generally don’t leave the factory with underbody protection, as their roads aren’t treated with salt during winter. Thankfully, this Forester has only been in the UK since January, so it hasn’t seen a British winter yet.

The underside is in fantastic condition, making it the perfect candidate to protect before corrosion has a chance to take hold. 👍

It’s now booked back in with us in around 6–7 weeks for a full strip-down and professional underbody protection treatment, helping to keep it looking this good for many years to come.

🚨 When a “Reconditioned” Fuel Pump Costs You HALF Your Horsepower… 🚨
We’ve got a VW T4 1.9 TD (68bhp) in the workshop that recently had a service elsewhere.
During the service, the garage spotted a leaking fuel pump and fitted a reconditioned replacement.
Sounds good… doesn’t it? 🤔
Well, it rolled onto our dyno and produced a mighty…
💥 36bhp.
Yes, you read that right. Thirty-six brake horsepower.
Somewhere during the “reconditioning” process, this poor Transporter has misplaced over 30bhp! 😳
Customer is returning to the Garage to see if they can sort it out hopefully.

🚐💨 VW T5 1.9 TDI – From “Mapped… Ish” to Properly Sorted! 🔥

This local VW T5 1.9 TDI came in for a custom turbo-back exhaust and Pendle Performance remap.

The customer was convinced it had already been remapped… and technically, it had. 🤪 The problem? It just didn’t have any guts!

📊 Before:
⚙️ 126bhp
💪 295Nm

After fitting a free-flowing turbo-back exhaust and carrying out a Pendle Performance remap, the difference was clear.

📈 After:
🔥 142bhp
💪 318Nm

It’s not just about the extra 16bhp and 23Nm… the biggest improvement is how it now delivers its power. Smoother torque, stronger pull through the rev range, and a van that’s finally as enjoyable to drive as it should be. 👌

The twin-exit exhaust finishes it off nicely too! 😍

🔥 These new VW Transporter T6.1s certainly look the part… but there’s always room for improvement! 🚐💨

Even this 150bhp DSG model needed a helping hand. Once these vans are converted into campers and carrying all that extra weight, a bit more power and torque makes a world of difference.

This one also came fitted with VW’s “half exhaust” option, where the exhaust exits halfway underneath the van. Not ideal, especially on a camper.

So, we fitted one of our PP Tuning stainless steel full-length exhaust systems, finished with a factory-style turned-down tailpipe for that OEM look. 👌

Then it was onto the MAHA rolling road for:
✅ Pendle engine remap
✅ Pendle DSG gearbox mapping
✅ DPF regeneration
✅ Full adaptations reset

The result? A van that drives far smoother, pulls stronger, and gets rid of that hesitation.

🔹 155bhp
🔹 345Nm

📈 After:
🚀 192bhp
💪 440Nm

We don’t see many Suzuki Swifts through the workshop… but this one definitely made us smile! 😄

The customer asked us to fit a brand new rear silencer… and then added one small request…

It’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s what modifying cars is all about – making them your own. We fitted exactly what the customer wanted, and we have to admit… it’s definitely unique! 😆
