🔧 BMW X5 ADAS Calibration in Progress at Strathclyde Windscreens.
Today, our team is carrying out a dynamic calibration on the front camera of this 2025 BMW X5 after the windscreen was replaced due to damage.
At Strathclyde Windscreens, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration is paramount to vehicle safety.
Whenever a windscreen is removed, replaced, or refitted, calibration is essential to ensure that the vehicle’s safety systems continue to function exactly as the manufacturer intended.
Because this vehicle uses the latest technology, we were unable to complete the calibration using our in-house diagnostic equipment. To ensure the job was done to the highest standard, we partnered with Core Diagnostics - Remote Diagnostics, who connected remotely to assist our technicians through the calibration process.
For this type of dynamic calibration, we connected the Core Remote Diagnostic tool into the vehicle’s computer - the car’s “brain” - to put it into calibration mode. We then drive the vehicle under specific conditions, following manufacturer instructions involving road types, speeds, signs, and markings.
This allows us to revalidate and reinstate the vehicle’s safety systems following windscreen replacement, ensuring driver safety is never compromised.
At Strathclyde Windscreens, all of our technicians are IMI-accredited in ADAS calibration and trained in the latest repair technologies, because we believe safety should never be left to chance.
