Talk to the professionals.
Just because a diagnostic tool has logged a fault for DPF doesn’t necessarily mean it needs a clean.
Too many so called experts jump straight into cleaning DPFs.
Well trained, professional technicians, who understand DPF technology, use diagnostics to HELP them identify problems but use their knowledge and experience to decide how to resolve the matter - they do not just "clean" and send the owner on their way.
This car, which was presented to one of the 500+ dealers in our Official UK network, needed the Vac leak diagnosed and rectified before the dealer, moved onto the DPF.
Once the fault was fixed, the "symptom" (DPF-fault logged) was addressed by taking the car on the road for an extended road test, to allow it to complete a successful regeneration.
This is why TC dealers won’t just clean a DPF if asked. We need to conduct an appraisal and assessment of the vehicle to ensure delivery of a long term fix for the owner
