🖤 RHYS’ PFL A45 - WORTH THE 8-HOUR ROUND TRIP

Rhys made the trip down to us for the EST touch, with the car already fitted with all the prerequisites needed to get straight into tuning.

After the initial dyno runs, a couple of tweaks were needed to get everything behaving properly. We adjusted the wastegate setup and replaced the N75 boost control valve to get the boost back under control.

Once everything was dialled in, we finished up with:

📊 430hp & 636Nm

A really healthy result and another PFL A45 leaving us exactly how it should be. 👊

🔧 DAN’S GLA45 AMG — FINALLY SORTED

In with us this week was Dan’s pride and joy, his GLA45 AMG.

Unfortunately for both Dan and the car, it had been given the runaround a little after visiting a few performance garages previously, with issues being misdiagnosed and changes made without actually delivering any meaningful improvement.

Dan booked it in with us to investigate poor boost control once tuned.

After getting stuck into the car, we found the culprit - an incorrectly set wastegate. Fairly fundamental when you’re trying to control boost properly, so we’re not entirely sure how that one had been missed previously… but hey ho. 😅

Once we had the wastegate dialled in properly, we installed our:

💨 x 200Cel Sports Cat Downpipe

Paired with the aftermarket 4” intake already fitted, it was then onto the dyno for our EST Stage 2 Software.

📊 Final Figures: 421hp & 647Nm

Proper boost control, strong power and, most importantly, a car now behaving exactly as it should.

While it was with us, we also carried out a Full B Service to get the maintenance side of things back where it needed to be too.

A much happier GLA45 - and hopefully a much happier Dan. 👊

TOM’S FACELIFT A45 AMG

In with us today was this lovely Mountain Grey A45 for our Stage 1 ECU & TCU Package, along with an intake kit.

The car was an incredibly clean example and had clearly had plenty of recent maintenance and remedial work carried out, which meant it was in a great place mechanically before we got started.

Once onto the dyno, it performed exactly as we’d hoped.

📊 Final Figures: 415hp & 587Nm
📈 Gains: +50hp & +103Nm

A really healthy result from a properly looked-after car, with a strong improvement right through the rev range.

Leaving us today was this beautiful facelift GLC63S after coming in for a full Mercedes B Service / Major Service.

🖤 DAVID’S AMG GT R — STAGE 2

Back in with us again for more power, more noise and better cooling.

David’s GT R was already running our Stage 1 ECU & TCU Package alongside a WagnerTuningUK Intake System, but he wanted a little more drama from the car and a bit more headroom when pushing it hard.

So this time around we added:

❄️ WagnerTuningUK Upgraded Charge Cooler Kit
💻 EST Stage 2 ECU & TCU Software

Once everything was fitted, it was back onto the dyno to bring the whole package together.

📊 Stock: 596hp & 764Nm
📊 EST Stage 2: 701hp & 948Nm

Over 100hp and 180Nm gained, with improved cooling and a soundtrack much more fitting of an AMG GT R.

Exactly the extra bit of drama David was looking for. 👊

🖤 STAGE 2 MINI JCW F56 LCI2

In with us this week was Paula and Peter’s 2022 Mini Cooper JCW, a car we’ve already seen a few times while gradually building it into a really well-rounded setup.

Previous visits had already seen us fit:

This week we added:

🔊 Scorpion OPF Bypass

Then it was onto the dyno for the ECU unlock and tuning.

A really nice result from a car that’s been built up properly over time, with the chassis, cooling and supporting hardware all addressed before chasing more power. 👊

🖤 MATT’S A45S — EST STAGE 2

Matt’s A45S was with us last week for a .eu ECU Unlock, allowing us to then get stuck into our EST Stage 2 Package.

The car was also treated to the Gloss x Intake Kit, alongside the usual supporting hardware including:

Once the ECU was unlocked and everything was in place, we could properly unleash the potential of the M139 package.

A really clean setup, with all the right hardware in place to make the most of our Stage 2 calibration. 👊

🖤 MARK’S STAGE 3 500+HP A45 AMG

All finished up and leaving us this week was Mark’s facelift A45 AMG.

A low-mileage, super healthy car to begin with, and together with the right supporting hardware it made for a really strong Stage 3 package.

The setup included:

🔧 Charge Cooler Kit
🌀 x Turbocharger
💨 Downpipe
🌬️ Intake Kit already fitted

As with every Stage 3 car, we carried out our Pre-Tuning Inspection before it went anywhere near the dyno, including a full workshop inspection, compression test, diagnostic scan and checks of the common problem areas.

Once everything was given the all-clear, it was onto the dyno.

📊 Final Figures: 510hp & 653Nm

A seriously healthy result from a properly prepared car, and exactly why we put so much importance on making sure the mechanical side is right before chasing power.

🖤 GARY’S GLA45 - 150,000 MILES AND COUNTING

This car has been under our care since it was around 35,000 miles, coming back to us this week for its 18th service - which is pretty nuts in itself.

It’s now sitting at a staggering 150,000-odd miles and, in all that time, hasn’t needed so much as a replacement thermostat, suffered a gearbox issue or had a rear differential problem.

If ever there was an argument for correct servicing - or “over servicing” as some might call it - this is probably it.

Gary doesn’t exactly have an easy life with the car either. It’s used heavily for work and regularly racks up tens of thousands of miles in a matter of months.

But probably our favourite part of this story is the common belief that a tuned car is automatically less reliable than a standard one.

While that blanket statement can absolutely be true in some circumstances, Gary’s GLA is a pretty good example of why it isn’t always the case.

We tuned this car at roughly 41,000 miles with our Stage 2 Package.

That means it has now covered over 100,000 miles tuned… and it hasn’t missed a beat.

Good software, proper maintenance and an owner who actually looks after the car.

150k miles and still going strong. Not bad for a tuned AMG. 👊
