🇬🇧 Something a little different in the workshop today… Morgan Aero!

We had this absolutely stunning Morgan Aero with us today for its routine servicing and maintenance.

It might be a little different from our usual BMWs and MINIs, but with a BMW V8 under the bonnet, it’s certainly right at home here at JWS!

These are seriously special cars — unmistakable styling, loads of character and that fantastic V8 soundtrack. It’s not every day you get to see one up close, let alone have one in the workshop.

All serviced, checked over and ready for plenty more miles!

What a brilliant day at MINI National Day!

We had a fantastic time at the show today, surrounded by some incredible cars and a great MINI community. A massive thank you to the organisers for all the work that went into putting on such a great event — the atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant.

It was especially good to catch up with familiar faces and meet so many new people. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come over, have a chat, talk cars, ask questions and find out more about what we do at JWS MotorWorks. Your support really does mean a lot to us! 🙌

Events like this are a great reminder of why we enjoy being part of the BMW & MINI community so much.

Thanks again to everyone who made the day what it was. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

One of our personal favourites here at JWS… the OG BMW M2

There’s just something about these cars — compact, rear-wheel drive, plenty of character and still one of the best-looking M cars BMW has produced!

This stunning example was with us for some routine maintenance and a small brake upgrade:


* Minor Service
* MOT
* ⁠⁠ Ferodo DS2500 rear brake pads
* ⁠Brake Fluid Change

The Ferodo DS2500s are a great upgrade over a standard road pad, offering improved bite and temperature performance while still being perfectly usable on the road — ideal for a fast road car like the M2.

Nothing crazy needed this time, just keeping a very nice OG M2 maintained, performing as it should and ready to be enjoyed!

Front end transformation incoming at JWS Motorworks.

This BMW M2 is already a weapon, but it’s about to get the aggression it deserves. Lower, wider, and meaner—we’re bolting on a fresh front splitter to sharpen up the aero and complete that track-ready stance.🛠️🔥

We were really happy to have the MMX G87 development car with us for our Cars, Coffee & Dyno Charity Day!

What a machine! The G87 looks absolutely incredible, and with the full MMX treatment it certainly got plenty of attention throughout the day.

A massive shoutout and thank you to the guys at MMX for trusting us with the car and letting us have it for the whole weekend. It was great to have something this special on display for everyone to get up close to.

Safe to say… we didn’t really want to give the keys back!

What’s really going on inside your engine?

Sometimes fault codes and live data only tell part of the story. That’s when it’s time to get back to the fundamentals and check the mechanical health of the engine itself.

Here we’re using our Snap-on digital compression tester to measure and compare compression across each cylinder.

A compression test can help us identify issues such as:

# Worn piston rings
# Valve sealing problems
# Cylinder wear or damage
# Head gasket issues
# Uneven compression between cylinders

The digital tester allows us to quickly compare the cylinders and build a much clearer picture of the engine’s overall condition — particularly useful when diagnosing misfires, poor performance, excessive oil consumption or suspected internal engine problems.

At JWS MotorWorks, we don’t believe in guessing and throwing parts at a problem. Test it. Measure it. Diagnose it properly.
