IMPORTANT NOTICE CONCERNING MOT TESTS DURING THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY:
In order to limit the need for motorists to visit MOT Testing Centres and thus reduce the transmission risk of Covid 19, the Government has introduced a rolling programme of 6 month MOT Test extensions. However, they have also issued the following statement:
“You can be fined up to £2,500, be banned from driving and get 3 penalty points for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.”
We, as a garage and MOT Centre, are currently allowed to remain open in order to ensure that vehicles owned by key workers remain in safe and working order.
We want to do our part in helping you and the country in this unprecedented situation.
Therefore, if you are a member of the NHS, or other specifically designated key worker, and have any concerns about the safety or legality of your vehicle, we are currently offering FREE Roadworthiness checks.
These checks are effectively an MOT Test without a certificate and all areas normally tested during an MOT will be checked to ensure you are safe and legal to use your vehicle.
How it Works:
- If you are comfortable in bringing your car to us, we can test your vehicle while you wait. (Please call in advance to ensure we have a slot available). We will sterilise your keys, steering wheel and gear lever before and after we test the vehicle. We have a waiting room you can use if you choose to stay with your car and only one person will be allowed in there at any time. The Roadworthiness check will be FREE.
- We are happy to collect from your home or work within a 6 mile radius. Our postcode is S44 6PA. In these cases, we will only request a small contribution to cover fuel costs. The Roadworthiness Check will be FREE. We will sterilise your keys, steering wheel and gear lever when we collect the vehicle and again when we return it.
This offer will remain in place for the foreseeable future i.e. as long as we are allowed to remain open by the Government or until such time as the Government declares the current crisis over.
Stay safe, Protect the NHS.
