Today’s Monday was a lot different to last Mondays chaos.
We had the Skoda for a service, fuelled with coffee & cake. Plus and ABS Sensor on the customers camper. Then onto the Audi for a service and inspection. Finishing off with new mirror caps and a front brace on the BMW

Not every job is big clutches and wet belts. Sometimes it’s tiny custom brake pipes that fit in the palm of your hand 😅

Bent, flared and made to fit exactly as Mazda intended 👨🏻‍🔧🔧

🚨 Non-Starter Diagnosed & Repaired 🚨

This Dacia Duster, a non-runner and after carrying out our diagnostics, Jason traced the fault back to the fuel pump circuit.

A new fuel pump was required, but that wasn’t the whole story… 🔎 Further investigation revealed a burnt-out connector pin and damaged wiring supplying the fuel pump. The poor connection had overheated, causing excessive resistance and ultimately preventing the pump from operating.

Had the wiring fault been missed, simply replacing the fuel pump could have resulted in the same issue returning.

✅ New fuel pump fitted
✅ Damaged wiring repaired
✅ Burnt connector replaced
✅ Vehicle back up and running

This is why proper diagnosis is so important. Fault codes and guesswork can become expensive very quickly, but finding the root cause saves time, money and repeat failures.

We thought the hardest part of this job was going to be the suspension arms… they’re well known for seized bolts and putting up a fight. 😅

How wrong were we! What should have been the simple bit fitting new discs and pads has turned into the real battle.

Some absolute melon 🍈 hadn’t greased the caliper slider pins during a previous repair, so they were seized solid. Cue hammers, heat, grinder & persuasion and a lot more time than anyone wanted to spend on a brake job. 🔨😮‍💨

It’s a good reminder that the little details DO matter & keeping on top of best practices. A tiny bit of grease in the right place can save hours of grief further down the line also the customer needing further parts!

Some more bits we did last week because I’ve been really rubbish on the daily updates. The Fiesta had some MOT advisories fixed. We fitted new discs, pads and calipers plus a new exhaust to a transporter. Plus a new boost pipe for the 330d ready for its festival holiday 🏕️🎉
