Job Title: Self-Employed Auto Electrician
Location: Mobile / Workshop-based (Ellesmere port)

Job Overview
Due to continued growth we are looking for a Self-Employed Auto Electrician to join our team, which could result in PAYE position. To provide specialist electrical diagnostics, repair, and installation services for a wide range of vehicles. This role requires strong technical knowledge of modern automotive electrical systems and the ability to diagnose faults efficiently on cars, vans and HGVβs.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
β’ Repair and replace faulty wiring, sensors, control units, and electrical components.
β’ Install vehicle electrical systems such as Additional cameraβs, tracking systems, additional lighting and more.
β’ Perform battery, alternator, and starter motor testing and carry out competent replacements.
β’ Troubleshoot CAN bus systems, ECU faults, and modern vehicle electronics.
β’ Carry out wiring repairs and modifications on a wide range of vehicles.
β’ Provide mobile electrical repair services at customer locations where required.
β’ Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
β’ Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with industry standards.
β’ Good Housekeeping/ Cleanliness is a must.
β’ Time keeping and working to target deadlines.
Skills and Experience
β’ Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or Automotive Technician.
β’ Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
β’ Ability to use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and electrical testing equipment.
β’ Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics, ECUs, and CAN bus systems.
β’ Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
β’ Good communication and customer service skills.
β’ Ability to work independently & as part of the team.
β’ Takes upmost pride in their work
Qualifications (Preferred)
β’ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Automotive Electrical or Vehicle Maintenance.
β’ IMI certification or equivalent automotive qualification.
β’ Valid driving licence.
β’ Class 1 or 2 license beneficial but not essential
β’ Experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
