Last week we had a customer arrive with a broken suspension spring and a flat tire. The spring had snapped, causing it to jam at an angle where it constantly rubbed against the inside of the tire wall. This very quickly wore the tire down, opening the tire up completely on the one side.
Our customer was very lucky they did not lose control of their car!

Our full Service B option, involves having a health check on your tires, coil springs, brakes, along with a full fluids check (top-up if needed) wiper blades, bulbs & door hinges etc greased, as well as a full engine oil change & all filters replaced.

Here we have a set of spark plugs which were removed from a customers car, whilst in for it’s full service. It was clear that this car was in need of some tlc!

The white part is made of porcelain. Spark plug porcelain can crack due to temperature changes, impact, or internal cracks. The ceramic portion of the plug is brittle and can break easily, leading to cracks in the porcelain.
Additionally, the impact caused by engine vibrations and other mechanical stresses can also lead to cracks in the porcelain. When the porcelain cracks, it can affect the performance of the spark plug and may even cause a misfire. Therefore, it is important to handle spark plugs carefully and avoid subjecting them to excessive temperature changes or impacts to prevent porcelain cracking. If you know the porcelain is cracked, this should be addressed to prevent further damage to the engine, as the overall performance of the car will be affected.

These images also show the stress lines appearing on the porcelain part of the spark plugs.

Regular servicing on your vehicle is very important. It lengthens the life of the engine, and prevents further damage to other components, which could end up costing a lot more than it should have!

Recently, we had a BMW 3 Series in for tail light issues. No side light, no indicator & no brake light. Upon further inspection, the cause was due to an overheated terminal plug which controls the tail light. The internals had started to melt! If this wasn't spotted, this could have caused a potential fire, costing the customer a lot of ££££!
