GT Tyres Cumbria Ltd is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of HR Manager.
The Role
We are seeking an organised, approachable and experienced HR professional to lead the day-to-day management of our HR function across the business.
Working closely with managers and employees, the successful candidate will help ensure effective people management, compliance with UK employment legislation and the continued development of a positive, supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day HR function and provide professional support to managers and employees.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding and the maintenance of employee documentation.
* Manage employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date and confidential employee records.
* Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently across the business.
* Support managers with performance management, employee development and related HR matters.
* Monitor sickness absence, annual leave and other HR-related activities.
* Ensure compliance with current UK employment legislation and recognised HR best practice.
* Support the delivery of training, development and employee engagement initiatives.
* Prepare HR reports and provide updates to senior management as required.
* Handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
About You
The successful candidate will:
* Have previous HR experience, ideally gained within a busy business environment.
* Possess a sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Be confident communicating with employees and managers at all levels.
* Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Be professional, approachable and able to manage confidential matters with discretion.
* Be capable of working independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
* Demonstrate sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be advantageous.
