Joshua Simon Keohane-Cherry brought his 1.8T swapped Lupo GTI over to us following a track day that raised some issues:
A coolant leak identified as a budget water pump leaking, led to fitting a genuine VW water pump along with a new cambelt and tensioner to ensure trouble free motoring. One of the coolant joiners had also been overtightened and perished, breaking apart when removed to access the cambelt, this was replaced by a stainless steel joiner. As you can see the coolant was also rather crusty, multiple coolant flushes and a new header tank later its back to a bright pink that it should be ๐
The second issue was it repeatedly blew its boost pipes off, we found that 2 of the aluminium pipes had been cut to length but had no bead rolled on the end, a quick trip to see Jon at Advanced fabrication ltd soon sorted that issue to ensure they remain in place and keep the boost where it should be!
Such a cool little car that packs a real punch ๐ช never a fun task fixing inherited issues but happy to help get it up to the standard it should be
