StarterMotor

StarterMotor Fueling young careers in the world of historic and classic cars with hands-on access to vehicles, events, and educational opportunities.

The collective historic vehicle sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years: it is now thought to be worth over Β£5bn annually to the UK’s economy, and it employs some 34,900 people. However, whilst expanding, it is also ageing, resulting in a younger generation missing out on both the valuable skills required and also historic vehicle ownership, particularly as costs of ownership can be ou

tside the reach of many young enthusiasts. 1,000 new engineers are estimated to be required over the next 5 years just to stem this erosion. The net result is a real possibility of valuable skills being lost, to the detriment of the industry, economy, employment and historic car enthusiasts. There is a clear need to engage a younger generation, with the aim of encouraging them to take up careers in the historic vehicle industry and to enjoy historic vehicles.

Goodwood is always a good idea...

From beautifully preserved classics to breathtaking competition cars, there were some truly special vehicles on show throughout Goodwood Festival of Speed

While it’s easy to admire the cars themselves, every vehicle has a story – and a dedicated team of people behind it. From restoration specialists and engineers to photographers, marketers and event organisers, it takes a wide range of skills to keep these incredible machines on the road and in front of enthusiasts.

Spending time with Motorsport UK, supporting their Inclusion Hub was a fantastic reminder that there are many different routes into the historic motorsport and automotive industries.

What a weekend! 🏁

Last week, our Ambassadors had an incredible time taking on this year’s HERO-ERA Rally for the Ages.

From navigating the route to making new connections across the historic motoring world, it was another reminder that the best way to learn is by getting stuck in.

These are the experiences that build skills, confidence and open doors.

Huge thanks to HERO-ERA for making it possible, and congratulations to everyone who took part.

Oh... and shoutout to our own Morgan for finishing an amazing 2nd in class! πŸ†πŸ‘
