Fueling young careers in the world of historic and classic cars with hands-on access to vehicles, events, and educational opportunities.

The collective historic vehicle sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years: it is now thought to be worth over £5bn annually to the UK’s economy, and it employs some 34,900 people. However, whilst expanding, it is also ageing, resulting in a younger generation missing out on both the valuable skills required and also historic vehicle ownership, particularly as costs of ownership can be outside the reach of many young enthusiasts. 1,000 new engineers are estimated to be required over the next 5 years just to stem this erosion. The net result is a real possibility of valuable skills being lost, to the detriment of the industry, economy, employment and historic car enthusiasts. There is a clear need to engage a younger generation, with the aim of encouraging them to take up careers in the historic vehicle industry and to enjoy historic vehicles.

It’s a special day today...

The 19th of September marks International Morgan Day. For 117 years, Morgan has been producing some of Britain’s most iconic sports cars with its craftsmanship continuing to honour the principles established in 1909, creating a legacy that remains unmatched.

Today, we celebrate this iconic British marque and its pioneering contribution to the automotive industry, as well as the passion and community that surround it.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the The Morgan Sports Car Club, whose enthusiasm and support we value enormously. Our Ambassadors have benefitted from many opportunities through the Club, creating experiences, connections, and memories that exemplify their love for the inudstry.

An MX-5 Owners Club takeover at Scramble 😎🏁

On 4 October, our StarterMotor stand at the Bicester Motion Scramble (located by Gate 1) will host a hand-picked line-up of iconic Mazda MX-5s, brought together in partnership with the MX-5 Owners Club.

And this isn’t just a display of great cars.

Many of the MX-5s will be owned by under-30s from GenMX, the Club’s young members’ section.

At StarterMotor, that’s exactly what we want to see. Young people not just admiring automotive heritage, but owning it, enjoying it and becoming part of the community that will carry it forward.

There’ll also be a special MX-5 provided by Mazda_UK… but you’ll have to wait until the day to discover what it is. No spoilers! 👀

With our Golden Ticket Concours taking place alongside it, 4 October is shaping up to be a very special day for those who care about the future of the classic automotive community.

From a Ferrari 308 QV GTB to a Renault Avantime... we’ve had it all.

A huge thank you to everyone who has entered their pride of the drive into our inaugural Golden Ticket Concours at October’s Bicester Motion Scramble.

Reading through your stories and discovering what these motors mean to you has been both fun and genuinely heartwarming. Thank you for taking the time to share your vehicles and the memories, passion, and experiences behind them.

Not your average Saturday… 🏁

The annual Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone was an incredible day, and a few lucky StarterMotor Ambassadors were invited to be part of the action.

After getting stuck into marshalling duties, the group had a front-row seat for the on-track action before the ultimate treat; jumping into a selection of incredible Bentleys for passenger laps around the iconic Silverstone circuit!

A huge thank you to Bentley Drivers Club for giving our Ambassadors such an exciting and unforgettable experience. What a day!
