This week, our Director, Hayley Mellor, attended the YBMR (Young British Metals Recyclers) committee meeting in her role as Co-Chair.

A huge thank you to Beth for hosting us and for the opportunity to visit the Global Ardour site. It was a fantastic visit, and we were all impressed by the operation.

It's an exciting time for YBMR, with a passionate committee full of fresh ideas and enthusiasm. We can't wait to see what we can achieve together to support and connect the next generation of professionals in the metals recycling industry.

Yesterday, Head of Operations, Beth Mason, kindly hosted the YBMR Committee at Global Ardour Recycling’s Tipton site.

Yard Manager, Andy Dean, provided Committee members with a guided tour of the site, including a close-up look at the shredder.

Thank you to Beth and everyone at Global Ardour Recycling Ltd for their warm hospitality.

Ferrous or non-ferrous? If you are not sure, there is a simple way to test it.

Grab a magnet.
If it sticks - ferrous (steel, iron). If it does not - non-ferrous (copper, aluminium, brass). Non-ferrous metals generally fetch a higher price.

Separating your materials beforehand also helps us sort everything faster when you arrive, making the whole process quicker and easier.
