Did you know that the SAE requirement for warning lights is only 5 degrees up / 5 degrees down from horizontal?

This means that ensuring your warning lights are as horizontal as possible is critical for effective warning. The image below shows a competitor's installation of a light on a canopy, and our installation of a light on a front fender.

Given, the canopy has a more severe angle than the front fender but you can see that the canopy light installer made no effort to align the light horizontally. The fender light has 'wedge' spacers behind it to orient it parallel to the road surface. We have various thicknesses/angles of these wedges and can combine them when needed, to orient the light properly.

The yellow lines show an approximate 0 degree angle (dotted line) and approximate 5 degree up/down (solid lines). The canopy-mounted light is essentially useless for warning vehicles at any distance. The customer paid for the light, its installation, and the drilling into the canopy, but the light itself serves nearly zero purpose in terms of warning.

These types of "little things" are impossible to convey to customers on a quote, but are critical for effective warning. Does it take a bit longer to mount a light with an angled wedge, plus the small cost of the wedge itself? Absolutely. Is it worth it in terms of warning light power? Also yes.

If you get quotes from multiple vendors and wonder why the parts are about the same price but the labour is significantly less on one vs. the other, this kind of thing is why. It's the difference between just getting a vehicle complete, and doing it correctly.

The ONLY fully sealed running-board lights on the market.... hard to believe that other manufacturers wouldn't fully seal a light that is designed to go under your running board area, isn't it?

Dynaflares are available in 6 lengths from 1' - 6' . They come standard in tri-colour. They're great for any external or internal mount application, not just running board locations!
