🔴 1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6 — Proper Maintenance Matters 🇮🇹

This beautiful 1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6 came into workshop for a comprehensive service and a few issues that needed sorting.

We carried out:

🔧 Full fluid service
🔧 Clutch master cylinder replacement
🔧 Clutch pedal adjustment
🔧 Spark plug replacement
🔧 Diagnosed & resolved a cold-start issue
🔧 Fuel level sensor replacement
🔧 Drive belts replacement
🛞 New set of tyres fitted — the old tyres were over 20 years old!
📋 Handwritten Pink Slip inspection for Club Registration

⚠️ One thing that caught our attention was the drive belts. The vehicle had undergone a timing belt service less than two months ago, however the auxiliary drive belts hadn’t been replaced at the same time.

And while the old tyres may have still looked okay at a glance, at over 20 years old they were well past their serviceable age. Age matters just as much as tread when it comes to tyres, especially on a classic that may not cover many kilometres each year.

Another gorgeous classic Alfa now serviced, sorted and ready to be enjoyed. ❤️🇮🇹

🔧 SECOND OPINION, CORRECT DIAGNOSIS! 🔧

This Fiat 500 came into workshop after the customer was previously advised that it required a Selespeed/Dualogic unit replacement.

The customer wasn’t convinced and brought the car to us for a second opinion. After carrying out our own diagnosis and testing, we found the Selespeed unit wasn’t the problem at all.

The actual fault was with the clutch and selector fork.

We carried out:
🔧 New clutch kit
🔧 Clutch fork replacement
💻 Selespeed/Dualogic system reprogramming & calibration
✅ Final testing and road test

With the correct repairs completed and the system properly recalibrated, the Fiat is back on the road and operating as it should — without replacing an expensive Selespeed unit unnecessarily.

A proper diagnosis can make all the difference.

This old-school Rat Rod has been getting some serious upgrades here at Mastertouch Automotive. Keeping that tough, raw exterior exactly how it should be while upgrading the mechanicals, driveline and electrics underneath. 💪🏼

Under the bonnet, the 454ci Chev Big Block has received:

🔧 Edelbrock Carburettor and high-rise intake manifold
⚡ New high-performance ignition system, distributor & leads
🔩 Rocker adjustment
✨ New chrome valve covers
⚡ Upgraded and cleaned-up wiring throughout
📊 Ford Auto Meter gauge upgrades

Backing up the big block, we’ve also fitted a new Turbo 400 high-torque automatic transmission with a stall converter, ready to handle all that 454 torque.

A great combination of old-school Rat Rod character with some much-needed mechanical and electrical upgrades. Big block, big torque and plenty of attitude! 🔥😎

🔧 Fiat 500 – Serviced, Upgraded & Ready to Go! 🇮🇹

This Fiat 500 came into the workshop for some routine maintenance, suspension work and an important engine upgrade.

Work carried out included:
✅ Minor service with a rego inspection
✅ Front shock absorbers replaced with KYB shocks along with new strut mounts and bump stops
✅ Metal rocker cover upgrade with a new gasket

🔩 Why the metal rocker cover upgrade?
The factory plastic rocker covers can warp over time due to heat, preventing the gasket from sealing correctly and leading to oil leaks. Rather than simply replacing the gasket and risking the leak returning, we upgraded this Fiat to a metal rocker cover, providing a more rigid and reliable sealing surface for a longer-lasting repair.

With the suspension refreshed, servicing completed and the rocker cover issue properly addressed, this little Fiat is back on the road and ready for plenty more kilometres. 🇮🇹

🔧 VW Polo 6R – Coolant Loss Finally Found! 🔧

This VW Polo 6R came into the workshop with an ongoing coolant loss issue that had previously been missed by two other workshops.

After carrying out our own inspection, we traced the problem back to a leaking water pump. With the fault identified, we got straight into the repairs:

💧 Replaced the leaking water pump
⚙️ Replaced the timing belt at the same time
🚿 Carried out a full radiator/cooling system flush
✅ Refilled, bled and checked the cooling system for correct operation

Coolant loss should never be ignored — even a small leak can quickly turn into an overheating issue and potentially lead to expensive engine damage.

🔧 Mercedes-AMG C63 S – Brake Noise Diagnosis 🔧

This C63 S came into Mastertouch Automotive after the customer complained of a loud banging noise from the left-hand front following a recent front brake pad replacement elsewhere.

After getting the car on the hoist and inspecting the braking system, we quickly found the cause — the left front brake pad retainer pin bolt was completely missing! 😳

With a high-performance vehicle like the C63 S, correct brake installation and torque procedures are absolutely critical. A loose or missing bolt can allow the brake pads to move under braking, creating a serious safety concern as well as the loud banging noise the customer was experiencing.

A good reminder that when it comes to your brakes, quality workmanship matters.

If your vehicle has developed an unusual noise after repairs or something just doesn’t feel right, get it checked.

This Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG came into the workshop for some important repairs to keep this hot hatch performing as it should. 💨

Work carried out included:
💧 Water pump replacement
💧 Coolant expansion bottle replacement
🔧 Both right upper engine mount replacement
💨 Turbo Oil and Water Pipe Seals
✅ Cooling system checked and tested after repairs

With the cooling system sorted and the failed engine mount replaced, this A45 AMG is back together and ready to hit the road again.
