Tunehouse is led by operations manager/owner Jim Ghelis. Jim boasts over 20 years of trade and race experience grafted from real experience, study and research, both locally and internationally. The combined knowledge base and clinical workshop practice is what gives Tunehouse more than just an edge over the competition. 🏆🏆Two cars entered. Two first places for Team Tunehouse❗️
Already planning on being at Subinats with long time customer Reuben with his MY18 STI, we made a last-minute call to enter our development GR86. We confirmed its Subaru powerplant made it eligible for entry and tapped our long term test driver John Boston from Trackschool to do the honours. Boz was just as keen as we were and was eager to see what the car could do in its current configuration but with only a week to go and parts still waiting to be fitted and development completed, the countdown was on.
Since its last outing, we’ve fitted a larger turbine housing, suspension tweaks and our Veltiston 3-in-1 combined catch can, surge tank and lightweight battery package (being tested behind the scenes). A special thanks also to Heasman’s for getting our new top hats working with our custom-valved shocks and hooking us up with a gun alignment in a very tight timeframe.🤝
With all the new mods in place it was onto the dyno where Jim squeezed out a new best on 98 RON of 285 kW at the hubs! Running E85 would have bumped us from Sprint into Track class alongside Reuben and dedicated track cars but the aim for this car has always been daily driven street car so 98 it was!
With our previous best of 319kw on ethanol delivering a 1:41.94, despite having less power and traffic to negotiate Boz pulled out a one-lap wonder of 1:40.966! First place in Sprint class and a new class lap record as a bonus!🏁
Important to note also that this was achieved as very much a full street car! Completely standard engine with stock internals along with stock gearbox, stock diff, no aero and a full interior. With our in house developed THR turbo kit doing the heavy lifting, supporting upgrades and suspension mods and good tyres showed what this platform can do when setup well.
Reuben backed it up with a cracking 1:36.28 in his WRX STI, taking first place in Track class and making it two from two for Team Tunehouse!

Another second-generation GR Yaris has recently received a THR Custom Tune at our shop, leaving with some impressive gains.
Having tuned a few of these, we have started noticing a pattern: Toyota is pushing these cars noticeably harder from the factory.
Where we once saw factory figures sitting around the 155 kW mark, we are now seeing upwards of 180 kW at the wheels. This results in slightly less tuning headroom on our end; however, this hasn’t stopped Jim from finding a few extra kilowatts hiding in that tiny little motor.
The final result? An extra 12–15 kW at peak power. Most noticeable, however, are the gains throughout the mid-range, where we saw increases closer to 20 kW, along with significantly improved throttle response.

This HSV Senator was in for a fresh upgrade courtesy of its bigger brother, the GTSR.
The factory brakes have been swapped out for the larger GTSR setup, which is essentially a straight bolt-on replacement. We also fitted braided brake lines to sharpen up pedal response and give the car a more direct, immediate feel under braking.
A simple upgrade that makes a big difference both in performance and appearance. Safe to say, they suit the Senator perfectly!

WTAC 2026 is done! With Reuben behind the wheel of his 2018 WRX STI we managed an event best of 1:34. Although this is just short of his all-time personal best, it doesn’t quite tell the full story...
The weekend marked a huge step forward in the development of this car. We turned the wick up with the car now pushing around 550 kilowatts at all four wheels, new coil overs for more grip and more aggressive aero. Chasing new records, the data from the car showed we were going faster than ever before and generating more G's through corners. Good news, right? Not quite!
That extra performance exposed a new weakness in the setup, oil surge. With the engine still not on a dry sump system and pushing upwards of 680KW at the crank, the engine was breathing extremely heavy. As soon as Reuben started pushing the car we were getting throttle closures just after the main straight out of turn 1. Further investigation showed the Emtron ECU was trying to protect the engine from drops in oil pressure.

In the quest for solutions we tested different breather configurations and changed the oil over to Motul 300V. These modifications paid off as we finally got a clean run, no pressure drops, no closure of the throttle, slotting us right into 7th place in club sprint class. We hit a staggering 284 Km/h down the main straight, faster than ever before with the car hitting the rev limiter in 6th gear! At these speeds, the forces from the aero are extremely high and the loads exceeded what the front splitter fasteners could handle with the splitter flying off in spectacular fashion just before turn 2.
Whilst frustrating, this is all part of the development process...finding the next weak point for improvement to get faster. We used the remaining sessions to gather as much data as possible however without the front aero, we couldn't quite achieve the same loads around the corners.
Now it’s back to the workshop to prep for Subinats with a new splitter in the making! Huge thanks to Reuben with his amazing coffee setup on tap, the team, everyone who helped across the weekend and the WTAC organizers for another great event.

This good old Mitsubishi Evo was in for a Dyno Re-tune. As any car advances in its age, its unavoidable that some of the key engine sensors start to slow down, their values change, and components wear. In order to combat this at Tunehouse, we conduct a health check and re tune the ECU to ensure everything continues operating perfectly.
Results?📈
Power went up from 235 to 249KW.
Torque increased from 380 to 401Nm.

Another Kia Stinger GT custom calibration complete!
With Jim behind the laptop, we achieved excellent gains of +50Kw & 56Nm of torque when comparing peak numbers, all on 98ron fuel.📈
Most notably however, is the significant increase we obtained in the midrange delivering a much more enhanced and engaging driver experience.
In simple terms, not only does it put you in your seat now, but it keeps you there as well!

One of our clients recently came through our shop with his beautiful Audi RS4 for a THR stage 2 package.🛠️
This Package included the fitment of high flow catted downpipes and off course, our custom calibration which was conducted in our state of the art dyno facility.💻
Results? Apart from now being able to hear its 2.9L V6 sing its lungs out, we obtained a peak of roughly 347Kw & 744Nm of torque to all four wheels!📈
