THIS IS WHY WE DIAGNOSE, NOT GUESS!
A great bit of diagnostic work from our technician Maz this week!
A vehicle came in with an intermittent engine warning light relating to a camshaft speed sensor circuit fault.
The tricky part? The fault would only appear under certain operating temperatures and wasn’t always present.
🔍 Maz got to work!
Starting at the sensor, he confirmed power, ground and signal were all present.
He also discovered evidence of previous wiring repairs, which needed to be investigated before moving forward. After confirming these were intact, he continued testing at the engine ECU.
🎯 And there it was a bent signal pin at the ECU connector!
Maz carefully corrected the pin, reassembled everything and confirmed the fault was resolved.
✅ No parts replaced
✅ Original ECU saved
✅ Fault identified and repaired
✅ Diagnosis to confirmed repair in under 2 hours!
💡 This is why we charge for diagnostics, not guesswork.
Without proper testing, this could have easily resulted in unnecessary sensors, wiring components or even an ECU being replaced.
Instead, Maz followed the evidence, found the actual cause and fixed it without replacing a single part.
