Some titanium exhausts are loud.
Some titanium exhausts are REALLY loud.

This one comes with a solution.

Karn's R35 just received a valved titanium exhaust system.

Press a button:
Camry Mode.

Press button again:
"Please don't call council" Mode.

The titanium finish looks the part.
The sound definitely does too.

Swipe through and have a listen.

Which mode are you picking?

Not everything we tune wears a GT-R badge.

This neat, little E30 came to the shop for tuning after receiving an M50B25 swap and turbo setup by the guys at Atomic Racing.

The M50 is one of those engines that’s earned its reputation for a reason.
Borrowed out of 90s Bimmers like the E34 and E36, they’re simple, strong, sound mad and respond ridiculously well to boost.

Which is exactly why they’ve become such a popular restomod swap into older chassis like this E30.

And honestly… this thing just nails the vibe.

White paint.
Gold wheels.
Boxy bodylines.
Turbo straight-six.

Very proper old-school euro car.

We might post a lot of JDM stuff around here, but we’ve always had a soft spot for old-school Euros too.

Just maybe don’t ask individual staff members what their favourite platform is 😂

If this style of build is your thing, check out the guys at who put the package together before it landed here for tuning.

Last Wednesday’s Gear Position Sensor post got a bigger response than we expected…

So Peter’s basically been locked in manufacturing mode ever since.

A heap of orders went out this week and we’ve already had enquiries come through for new shifter applications we haven’t developed sensors for yet.

That’s the cool part for us.
Every combination is a little different, so it keeps us developing and testing new solutions instead of just pumping out the same thing over and over.

Appreciate all the support, messages, shares and orders from you guys 👌

If you missed last week’s video explaining what these actually do, check it out here:

Keep the orders coming.

Gary's S15 rolled off a trailer this morning oozing presence.

It's up from SA for a few upgrades and a proper check-over before heading back home.

Current plans:
• MoTeC C1212 dash install
• PPG sequential gearbox conversion
• Nitrous setup with purge
• Reverse camera integrated through the C1212
• Tune + full inspection while it’s here

Powered by a Powertune-built SR22VE.
Proper car.

Good stance, quality parts and no shortcuts. The sort of stuff that still works years later instead of just looking good for Instagram.

Once the gearbox is in and everything’s sorted, we’ll get it on the dyno and show you guys what it does.

Stay tuned.

This Autech R33 GTR is a bit ridiculous.

Billet RB30 block.
Samsonas sequential.
And a full ground-up wiring job by Peter.

Not just an engine harness either.

The ENTIRE car was wired and Raychem wrapped front to back.

Honestly one of the wildest wiring jobs we’ve had through here.

Then it hit the dyno.

1040.6KW at the wheels…
until the clutch started slipping.

So there’s still more left in it.

It’s back in the workshop now getting the clutch situation sorted properly before we lean on it again.

There’s something scary-funny about a clean silver Autech making nearly 1400HP at the wheels.

Keep your eyes peeled.

These guys flew in from Thailand for GT-R Festival…
and left with more than just souvenirs.

They originally stopped by to grab a MoTeC C1212 dash.

Then they discovered we make a plug-and-play patch harness that lets the C1212 integrate directly into their existing setup without needing to completely reinvent the car.

Safe to say that changed the plan pretty quickly.

Here’s Peter walking them through how it all works before they headed back home.

Added bonus:
they could even claim duties back at the airport.

We’ve got a real soft spot for the Thai car scene.
Wild builds and huge passion coming out of there.

Sometimes the best parts of this industry are the random conversations that turn into smarter solutions.

GT-R Festival this weekend… so it only felt right to post a GT-R.

And honestly, what better than a Bayside Blue V•Spec II.

This is Emre’s car. We built it a few years back now.
Big RB. Sequential gearbox. Proper car.

Today it was back in for its yearly check-up.

No drama.
No chasing a new number.
Just making sure everything’s still happy and healthy.

That’s probably one of the coolest parts about these cars.

Some customers come and go… but a lot of GT-R owners stay part of the journey for years. You end up watching the cars evolve alongside the people who own them.

And for us, GT-Rs have always been a massive part of the story here.

Happy GT-R Festival weekend!

This RS7 was supposed to stop at port injection.

It didn’t.

It's now at:
Twin Garrett G-Series II G30-725 turbos.
Twin Turbosmart Gen-V Compgates.
All custom fabricated in to fit ridiculously tight clearances.
Valve spring upgrade.
DS1 tuning on the factory ECU.

Target?

1000 horsepower at the wheels...
On the factory ECU.

Because apparently an already stupid-fast luxury sedan still wasn’t fast enough.

Stay tuned to see this thing hit the dyno.

Big things. Little packages.
Cue our gear position sensor.

It’s one of those parts that quietly does a lot of heavy lifting in a serious build.

It enables gear-dependent functions within the ECU strategy.

Dash display integration.
Boost by gear.
One part of a transbrake setup.
Or a 2-step setup.

It all starts with the ECU actually knowing what gear the car is in.

We fit quite a few of these things, but funny enough, we’ve never really talked about them publicly before.

So welcome to Wizardry Wednesday — where we start showing some of the technical side of what actually goes on behind the scenes at Powertune.

Thanks Peter - our resident wiring wizard/fairy. 🧚‍♂️

Some engines get assembled.

Some get measured, checked, recorded, clearanced, checked again… then built with an actual purpose behind them.

Street car.
Circuit car.
Drag car.
1000HP monster.
Or just something that survives getting abused every weekend.

A proper engine build isn’t about throwing expensive parts together and hoping for the best.

It’s the little things:
Clearances.
Measurements.
Heat management.
RPM limits.
Fuel quality.
And understanding what the car actually needs.

That’s the part most people never see.

If you’ve been planning a build and want to talk through a combination properly, send us a message.

18/05/2026

Something serious just rolled through the doors.

Stay tuned....
