We recently posted a short video of Mick Doohan prior to winning the 1992 500 Grand Prix held at Sydney Motorsport Park (known as Eastern Creek International Raceway back then), and thought it appropriate to share the first winner of a Grand Prix on Australian soil, our own Wayne Gardner. Here’s an iconic image of Wayne after winning the inaugural event way back in 1989 at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. With the final event to be run at the Victorian seaside circuit starting tomorrow…who’s going to win the last one there? Share your predictions in the comments below…
