Commercial window film project completed for Journe Brands at their new Port Melbourne premises.
This was one of the most technically involved commercial film projects we’ve completed. Not because of the overall size, but because of the type of glazing and the amount of detail required.
The main front facade is point-fixed glass, meaning the panels are held together with exposed glass fixing hardware. Each panel had the main piece of film installed first, then we manually cut and fitted separate sections around each fixing point. Across the facade, there were 50+ individual cut-ins required.
On top of that, we removed the original film that had likely been on the glass since the building was constructed around 20 years ago. Old film removal always requires patience, especially on commercial glazing, and this one was no exception.
The top sections were also unreachable by standard ladder, so scaffold access was required, adding another layer to an already complex job.
For the front facade, client waiting area and foyer, we installed EcoShade 20 privacy and solar control window film. This gave the building a cleaner, more consistent external appearance while helping improve daytime privacy, glare control and heat reduction.
We also removed leftover external perforated film from the previous tenant so the finished facade could present properly.
Internally, we installed our Matte 70 frosted privacy film to various offices and glass partitions. This keeps the space bright and open while providing privacy where needed, day and night.
A challenging project, but a great result.
