Thinking of purchasing an e-scooter for your teen? If they are under 16, perhaps you should have a re-think. 🛴

An e-scooter is considered a personal mobility device.
Who can ride a personal mobility device??
▪ You must be at least 16 year of age
OR
▪ 12 years and supervised by an adult.

✅ Travel under 25km/h on bike and separated paths
✅ Travel under 12km/h on footpaths and shared paths
✅Wear your helmet
✅ Single rider only
✅Can only be ridden on a path and roads where the speed limit is 50km/h or less
✅ Mounting your phone to the handlebars is allowed so that it can be used for GPS navigation or as a speedometer

❌ Holding a mobile phone in your hand or resting it on any part of your body when riding is illegal. The phone does not need to be turned on for it to be an offence.
❌ No Passengers - not even a child
❌ Not permitted to travel on a main road or highway.
