Lepas L6 2026 review Australia: Signature | New Chinese family SUV brings style & 440km EV range

Jack Quick reviews the 2026 Lepas L6, the first model from Chery’s new design-focused sub-brand in Australia. It’s sold in a single Signature grade, priced at $47,990 before on-road costs, with a 65kWh battery and a claimed 440km WLTP range. This review covers design, cabin, practicality, driving and value.

Lepas calls its styling Leopard Aesthetics, with LED headlights, a wide stance and 19-inch alloys. Inside there’s a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof and heated and ventilated power front seats. A 2700mm wheelbase frees up rear legroom and the 410-litre boot grows to 1334 litres, plus 99 litres underfloor.

Power comes from a single front-mounted motor making 160kW and 275Nm, and DC charging from 30 to 80 per cent takes a claimed 22 minutes. Jack tests ride comfort, handling and refinement on Australian roads, then weighs the L6 against the BYD Atto 3 and Geely EX5 on price, equipment and the seven-year warranty.
