We were honored to receive the Winsted Progress Award recently at the Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet for our 90 Years serving Winsted and the surrounding communities. It is a blessing to be part of a community that will support a Family owned business for that many years. We truly appreciate each and everyone of you that has helped us along the way during this journey. This oneβs for you Dadβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ .
Alan Cafferty, owner of Bryanβs Service Station on the corner of Main Avenue and Third Street in Winsted, wasnβt around when his father, Bryan, started the business in 1935.
Bryanβs first shop was in a one-stall garage behind Sherman Station in west Winsted. Later, he bought the shop in Winsted and moved his business to town in 1954.
Alan and his 9 siblings all helped at the shop through their childhood along with helping at the farm that Bryan and his wife Elanor had outside of town.
Bryanβs Station included gas pumps in the 1960βs and 70βs. Many repairs included tractor repair also. In 1981, Al became the primary mechanic as has run the business ever since. Many updates were made over the years, but the shop has kept its original look from the 1930βs and the name remains the same out of honor for his father Bryan Cafferty.
Celebrating 90 years in Business. The 2025 Progress Award went to
Bryanβs Service Station.
