Six months. That’s all it took for this “ceramic coated” 2021 Hinckley to start showing oxidation.
Ceramic coating doesn’t stop oxidation if it’s trapped underneath. It simply locks the problem in.
This Hinckley Yachts came to us after another shop coated it without properly correcting the surface first. Before we could even think about protecting it, we had to undo the damage.
Using a meticulous 4-step oxidation removal process with Starke Yacht Care products, we restored the gelcoat to the finish it deserved. Only after the surface was truly corrected did we apply protection.
To ensure long-term performance, we installed just over 200mL of ceramic coating:

But we didn’t stop there.
To protect one of the highest-wear areas on the boat, we wrapped the cockpit table with XPEL Marine Protection Film. This virtually invisible barrier helps preserve the factory finish by defending against scratches, scuffs, stains, and harmful UV rays—keeping it looking new season after season.
The difference between a ceramic coating that lasts and one that fails isn’t the coating—it’s everything that happens before it.
