Down, you're closed in and warm on a cold morning. Up, you've got shade and airflow. Off, it's an open deck on a perfect afternoon. Turns out a lot of fuel v***r comes from boats just sitting at the dock, not even running.

So our tanks are a sealed pressure system. The filler neck runs deeper, so you can't fill to the very top; that void gives v***r somewhere to go, and the cap bleeds off at up to 5 pounds.
