Joe Novacek's passion has always been cars. His first job was working on his Dad's car lot where he fell in love with cars. He started his business part time out of his personal garage helping friends and family and as his business grew through referrals he decide to go full time and in 1993 he opened his own shop. Fall is the right time to think about coolant, because the same system that kept you from overheating in August is what keeps your engine from freezing in January. Coolant does not last forever, it gets acidic and stops protecting the metal it touches. If yours looks rusty or muddy, or you cannot remember the last time it was changed, have it tested. Cooling system work is a lot cheaper than a head gasket.

Second most common question we get: "will you work on mine?" Almost always yes. We handle most makes and models, domestic and a lot of everyday drivers, from routine maintenance to major engine work. The honest exceptions: we do not take on imports or diesel. If you are not sure where your vehicle lands, just ask. We would rather tell you up front than waste your afternoon.

Little bit of science for your Monday: tire pressure drops about 1 PSI for every 10 degrees the air cools off. So that 70 degree afternoon turning into a 35 degree morning is enough to set off your low-pressure light, and that is before any slow leak. Underinflated tires wear faster, waste gas, and handle worse in the wet. Check them cold, in the morning, before you drive.

First real Kansas rain of the fall always answers one question for people: how bad are my wiper blades? If they chatter, streak, or leave a haze right in your line of sight, they are done. Blades are cheap, a wreck is not. While you are at it, top off the washer fluid, because the first cold morning is when you find out the reservoir is empty. Easy stuff we can knock out with any other service you have coming.
