Installing a torque converter is harder than it looks.

If the converter isn’t fully seated before the transmission is installed, bolting everything into place can damage the pump and pump seal.

That’s why Jeronimo keeps rotating and working the converter into position until it finally drops fully into place.

It’s a small movement, but it matters.

The details you don’t see are often the ones that make the biggest difference.

🔊 TURN YOUR SOUND ON

The noise is obvious. The source isn’t.

Sometimes a driveline noise can be so loud that it travels through everything around it, making it harder—not easier—to pinpoint exactly where it’s coming from.

That’s when diagnosis becomes more than just listening from the driver’s seat.

Here, Jeronimo is using a stethoscope to isolate the noise and determine where the problem is actually coming from before we start recommending repairs.

Hear a noise you can’t identify? Let’s find the source before replacing parts.

It Just Keeps Coming Apart

A transmission teardown happens one layer at a time.

As components come out, our builders inspect what they find, look for wear and damage, and work their way deeper into the unit until they understand what caused the problem.

This video follows the same transmission through several stages of that process — and shows just how much is packed inside.

At Advanced Transmission Center, we diagnose and rebuild transmissions in-house for drivers throughout the Denver metro area, with shops in Lakewood and Westminster.

Real diagnosis means more than reading a code. Sometimes you have to take it apart and see what is really going on.

You Don’t Want To Find This In Your Transmission

That magnet is supposed to collect a small amount of normal metallic wear.

This is not a small amount.

What you’re seeing here is heavy metal contamination collected on the magnet from a 6F35 transmission filter — a strong indication that internal components are coming apart and circulating material through the unit.

Finding debris like this during an inspection tells us there is much more happening inside the transmission than a trouble code alone can show.

At Advanced Transmission Center, we diagnose transmission and driveline problems for drivers throughout the Denver metro area, with shops in Lakewood and Westminster.

When something doesn’t feel right, the goal is to find out what is actually happening before deciding what needs to be repaired.

This Is Where The Real Work Happens

A transmission rebuild is a lot more than replacing a few parts and putting everything back together.

Every component has to be inspected, cleaned, checked, and reassembled carefully. Fit, condition, and attention to detail all matter if the finished unit is going to work the way it should.

This is the hands-on part of the job — the work that happens on the builder’s bench before the transmission ever goes back into the vehicle.

Think It’s The Transmission? Maybe Not.

When a noise starts underneath your vehicle, the transmission is often the first thing people blame.

But the transmission is only one part of the driveline.

On this Jeep Rubicon, the noise was coming from the transfer case — which is exactly why proper diagnosis matters before anyone starts recommending repairs.

At Advanced Transmission Center, we diagnose transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, and related driveline concerns for drivers throughout the Denver metro area, with shops in Lakewood and Westminster.

The goal is simple: find out what is actually wrong before deciding what needs to be repaired.

This Is What “Coming Apart” Really Looks Like

Most drivers only experience a transmission problem from behind the wheel — slipping, delayed engagement, harsh shifts, or a warning light.

What they don’t see is what happens next.

Once a transmission is removed and torn down, our builders work through the unit piece by piece, inspecting the internal components and looking for the wear or damage that caused the problem in the first place.

This is why proper diagnosis and inspection matter. You can’t always tell the whole story from a trouble code or a test drive alone.

Tearing It Down Is Only Half The Job

Once a transmission has been disassembled and inspected, the next step is putting it back together correctly.

That means carefully installing each internal component, checking fit and clearances, and rebuilding the unit one step at a time.

This is the part of transmission repair most drivers never see — the hands-on work that happens on the builder’s bench before the transmission ever goes back into the vehicle.

This Is Why We Take Them Apart

A transmission can tell you a lot from the driver’s seat — slipping, delayed engagement, harsh shifts, noises — but sometimes the real answer is inside.

That’s why teardown and inspection matter.

As the unit comes apart, our builders can inspect the internal components, look for wear or damage, and determine what actually needs to be repaired instead of guessing from symptoms alone.

At Advanced Transmission Center, transmission diagnosis and rebuilding are done with the goal of finding the real cause of the problem and repairing what the vehicle actually needs.
