Winter weather affects more than just your car - help us share the warmth!

Winter has officially started and we're finally starting to see those cooler temps come in.

We've been spoiled with nice weather, but is your car ready for the snow and ice?

Check off a few items to make sure you are prepared and safe on the road ✅️

1. Check your tire tread! Good tread will help you stay in control in bad weather. Consider getting snow tires if possible and always check your PSI!

2. Keep your washer fluid topped off. Slush and dirt are inevitable and you always want to make sure you can clear it quickly!

3. Change your oil and antifreeze! Keeping up on maintenance can help prevent any problems during these cold months.

4. Check your battery. Your car battery tends to lessen in cold weather!

5. Keep an emergency pack in your car- blankets, water, and flashlight. Also keep kitty litter near by! This helps with traction if you happen to be stuck on ice.

Happy Monday!

What does this light mean and what should you do?

This is your coolant (antifreeze) warning light. ⚠️ You will see this come on when you start your car and then go away. You do not want to see this light come on while driving‼️

Why is coolant important? It helps prevent fluid from freezing in cold temperatures and helps prevent from overheating in extreme heat. If either of these happen you are at risk of serious damage to your engine. Coolant is very important as it runs through your engine to keep it within its correct operating temperature range.

There are many reasons why this light may come on including-
your coolant level is low
your coolant reservoir is leaking
your radiator cap is bad
your radiator hoses are loose, cracked or worn out
you have a bad head gasket
you have a bad intake manifold gasket
you have a bad sensor, wiring or warning light

If you see this light come on while driving, head on over to All Around Auto Care and our guys will make sure you are safe to get back on the road 👍

We all know that Colorado is known for pot....holes! What does this mean for your cars and their tires? Big problems if not taken care of 👎

What to know if this light suddenly shows up on your dashboard-

‼️This is your tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) alerting you that one of your tires is in an unsafe range to be driving on. DO NOT IGNORE THIS LIGHT!

How do you fix this problem and where to look? Check along the driver side door for a sticker that looks like this image below or in your car manual. There you will find the correct PSI for each one of your tires.
