Life with dad has been different lately. He needs my help now, and it has been cathartic for me. When I was younger, he always seemed to have it all worked out. Work was the priority and his mission was to provide for us. That also meant that he wasn’t around as much as I wanted him to be. I went from a girl who seemingly had to do everything on her own, to eventually knowing that dad wanted to be there for me as much as I needed him. It took a minute. We’re not perfect, yet we are at the same time, in our own way. His busy work life stole time from me, but life has a way of evening things out. Now we take drives, listen to 70s music and we’re getting to know each other. This is our story. Enjoy!
