Roger, I ❤️ this!

Some people buy a car and trade it off every few years. Then there are people like Roger Shultz that become part of the soul of a machine. Roger has owned this 1970 Ford Maverick Grabber for an incredible 52 years. Back when it rolled off the line it was wearing bright yellow paint with black stripes and looked ready to terrorize the streets before terrorizing the dragstrip.

For more than 25 years Roger has been racing this Maverick and making memories one pass at a time. That little Ford has probably heard more open headers, burned more race fuel, and seen more win lights than most people will ever experience in a lifetime. You can tell this car is more than steel and bolts to him. It is part family member, part time machine, and part adrenaline addiction.

I love stories like this because anybody can buy a fast car with enough money, but you can’t buy 52 years of memories. Every scratch, every burnout, every late-night wrenching session in the garage tells part of Roger’s story. Cars like this are why I love hanging around dragstrips. They are rolling history books with gasoline running through their veins.

Remember it would be a very boring world if we were all the same KEEP BEING YOU
