After racing The Circuit I decided to pull the valve covers off to have a look at the valve train components. I noticed 5 broken snap rings on the rocker arm trunnion bearings. I pulled the rocker arms out and nearly every bearing showed significant wear. This engine has only been in UnLuvd for a year now. This engine was someone else’s project that never got assembled, but they had already bought all the parts to assemble. Some of these parts were no-name brand likely from China. I replaced the trunnion bearings with much higher quality Brian Tooley Racing parts. I have used this same kit from BTR in my other engine that has nearly 20k drag and drive miles on them without a single issue. I’m glad we caught this before Big Sky Race Week.

Day 3 of The Circuit went a lot better than yesterday. I made a first pass with an 8.74 @ 153mph, and a second pass 8.92 @ 155mph. That put us narrowly back into second place with an 8.95 average in the Overdrive class presented by Padgett Performance. We were going back and forth with Chris Padgett who had a boost line fitting failure on one of his passes leaving him with a 9.05 average. Overall we had a great weekend with perfect weather doing what we love with our .

Day 2 of The Circuit at Thunder Valley Raceway Park Noble, Oklahoma was a struggle for us. After some incorrect shock inputs by myself, all we did was spin off the line. After realizing my mistake, there was only a few minutes until the staging lanes closed. The best we could do was a 9.33. That drops to 3rd place in the Overdrive class presented by Padgett Performance. After the races we all went Oklahoma Motorsports Complex to race karts and eat some pizza. Big thanks to Deatschwerks for sponsoring the racers party. We had a blast!

I got to race my buddy Jack Crawford today. I gave him the hit to make it a close race. Unfortunately he spun, and I went by to an 8.80 @ 154mph. That puts us second in the Overdrive class at The Circuit.

I had a great time at the Drag Drive Repeat Mother Road Mayhem drag and drive at Tulsa Raceway Park. We had to turn in one time slip this morning, make an 80 mile drive with three checkpoints, and then turn in another time slip after we got back to the track. I turned in an 8.53 @ 157mph and then a hairy 9.02 @ 154mph to win the Cornerstone Performance Transmissions Tailgate class. This was a fun event, and hopefully more of my will attend at the June event.

15 days remaining until the first Single Day drag and drive style event hosted by Drag Drive Repeat.

This event will be hosted alongside the Motorama at the drag strip event so get ready for an incredible lot full of cool cars, trucks and motorcycles.

A Single Day Drag and Drive is the gateway dr*g into your next addiction….

Drag Drive Repeat’s Street & Strip Series is a great way to dip your toes into drag and drive with its Single Day format, local drives, and the opportunity to meet other racers.
Hosted at Tulsa Raceway Park, alongside the Motorama event, from 8am until 3pm, it is a great way to test your car before the season breaks loose.

Racers will be required to submit a Single Pass in the morning to receive their driving instructions. From there, we will follow Route 66 to Ed Galloway’s Totem Pole Park for the first of THREE Route Stops along the Mother Road. One the way back to Tulsa Raceway Park, participants will make stops at the Route 66 Museum and Blue Whale in Catoosa.

Once they’ve returned to Tulsa Raceway Park, they will be required to submit a second timeslip, creating an Average that will determine the standings for their class. With Six Classes, there will be plenty of competition for everyone.

5 Quarter Mile Classes and 1 Eighth Mile Class.
One timeslip before and One timeslip after the drive will be used for Averages. Must Show Photos from Route Stops with timestamps. Timeslips will be checked for Time as well.
