Ever wonder what goes into a ceramic coating service? Well for us we start with a basic washing service.
Then we use our iron melt provided by PDP Professional Detailing R200 – Iron Melt is an fast acting, acid-free, pH balanced cleaner designed to dissolve ferrous (iron containing) particles and airborne chemical compounds that can pe*****te paint surfaces creating corrosive compounds that pe*****te deep into the paint's sub-layers.
After this step we move onto a clay bar treatment. This is a surefire way to remove all bonded contaminants from your clear coat is with a simple clay bar treatment. A clay bar is an engineered, clay-like product that pulls contaminants like water spots, brake dust, metal dust, industrial pollution and road grit from your clear coat. After this step it's time to rinse off and hand dry.
Now it's time to move onto some buffing/polishing work.
What's the Difference: Buffing vs Polishing -
Buffing removes swirl marks and scratches to achieve a smoother finish, but can also strip away surface material if you aren't careful. Polishing focuses on delivering a high-quality shine on surfaces that are already fairly smooth and isn't as effective at getting rid of scratches, and other defects.
After we complete our buffing and get all of our compound and polish off. We are ready to to prep all the surfaces that will be receiving our ceramic coating. We us panel wipe. Panel Wipe is designed to remove all polish residues so that chemically bonding coatings can form the maximum amount of bonds with your vehicle's paintwork. PW is a blend of pure alcohols and solvents formulated to remove and dissolve polish residues and then flash-off to leave a 100% decontaminated surface.
Now it's time to apply our 10H Graphene infused ceramic coating. We use perpetual products supplied by PDP.
Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent or permanent (depending on the type) of coating that is applied to the exterior of your vehicle to protect against external paint damage. It is a nanoscopic paint treatment that's applied in liquid form, but cures to form a hard layer over your vehicle's paint.
After we are done applying the ceramic it takes 48hrs to fully cure. During this time period we keep your vehicle stored and out of the elements.
