Upgrading an antiquated 35-ton wood splitter with a defective motor to a high-performance hydraulic inverted log splitter for my track loader will allow me efficient operation from within the cab, enabling the effective splitting of large, gnarled stumps while minimizing physical strain. Aged Walnut logs have been transformed into usable lumber. The resulting lumber includes 2” thick, 12” to 36” wide live edge slabs, as well as 2x6’s and 1x6’s. The lengths of these lumber pieces range from 8’ to 16’ and the moisture readings vary between 10% and 40% depending on the log source.
