Springfield! You like us! You really like us!

We are humbled and honored to once again be named Best of Springfield by the readers of the Illinois Times.

We know you have choices, and we never take it lightly that you continue to choose us.

From our family and our entire team, thank you, Springfield. We love being part of this community and we are truly grateful for your support. ❤️

Much to everyone's disappointment, the sushi bar laser tag dance floor dojo hot tub treadmill will NOT be available at Floyd Imports anytime soon, but we LOVE all of the responses and are taking them under consideration. 💃🕺🍣🏃‍♀️⚡

If you guessed tires, ceramic coating or detailing, we have great news: we ALREADY offer those services!

If you guessed "alignment rack," you guessed correctly! We are installing a state-of-the-art alignment system in the front bay. No more making multiple appointments or waiting for your car to return from another shop. And if you purchase new tires from us, we can easily add an alignment service, if needed.

We should be up (no pun intended) and running by mid-November.

Reasons to get an alignment:

• After major impacts: If you have hit a deep pothole, run over a severe bump, or struck a curb

• After suspension or steering repairs: Whenever parts like tie rods, ball joints, or control arms are replaced

• After an accident: Following any minor or major collision

• New tire installation: To protect your investment and prevent your new tread from wearing out unevenly

• Regular maintenance: It's a good idea to check your alignment every 6,000 to 10,000 miles or about once or twice a year

Stay tuned for the drawing -- one lucky customer will win a free alignment on the new rack!

Happy Birthday to Andrew Floyd, the hardworking guy who keeps this family business (and a lot of folks in Springfield) running.

Since age 16, he has been working at the shop and following in the footsteps of his now retired dad Eric and Uncle Dave — while also creating new pathways to expand services, adding new techs, and maintaining the same values Floyd Imports is known for.

First to show up and the last to leave, the shop wouldn’t be the same without his humor, expansive knowledge, passion for problem solving, and ability to juggle a dozen tasks at the same time.

Happy Birthday, Andy! It’s Saturday — you can take the day off!

Happy Birthday, David Floyd!

Customers sure do miss you, but we know you are enjoying your well-earned retirement!

Cheers to 72!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Route 66 Drive In Theater to enjoy a free movie night with Floyd Imports! It was so much fun spreading a little joy with familiar faces and new friends as well. Seeing our mini documentary from Storyteller Studios on the big screen was a moment to remember. Thank you to Doug, Olivia and the rest of the Knight’s crew for making tonight such a wonderful experience!

What do you think? Should we make a free night at the drive-in an annual summer tradition?

THIS Friday!

This is it! This is what we've been waiting to tell you!

On Friday, August 21, Floyd Imports will host a FREE family movie night at Route 66 Drive In Theater.

Route 66 Drive In Theater has graciously agreed to show our short documentary BEFORE the evening's feature films (TBA).

Is there a better place to premiere a short film about an automotive repair shop than a DRIVE-IN THEATER? 😍🚗🎬😍

Doors open at 7:45 PM. The first 100 guests get in FREE and will receive a special gift bag.

We are so excited to share this experience with you! It's a joint effort between three local, family businesses: Floyd Imports, Storyteller Studios, and Route 66 Drive In Theater.

That's what it's all about: community, family, fun, commitment to quality -- and keeping it local.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post far and wide. We can't wait to see you there! Look for us at the VW ID.Buzz -- and say hi!
