🦎 One of our favorite sights after a summer rain is spotting bright orange-red efts wandering around camp!

Red efts are the juvenile stage of the Eastern newt. During this part of their life, they leave the water and spend a few years exploring the forest floor before returning to ponds as adults. Their vibrant orange color is nature's way of warning predators to stay away.

If you're lucky enough to spot one during your stay, admire it from a distance and let it continue on its journey. It's just one more reason we love sharing our little slice of the woods with you! ❤️🌲
