Well, not every Monday is like the last. Some days, the sun even shines on a dog’s ass. 😂

Today was definitely one of the more memorable Mondays of my career. I got to spend an hour on the phone with someone I consider a peer, Mickey Cohen—and it turns out he’s a hell of a nice guy. Down to earth, easy to talk to, and smart. Oh my hell, this guy is smart.

Getting to talk shop and learn from someone like that? It doesn’t get much better.

Mickey, I really appreciate your time and advice today.

Days like today remind me why I love what I do.

LOOK WHAT FINALLY SHOWED UP. 🔥

We finally got our hands on the SP Concepts Black Onyx 2-into-1, and this thing is absolutely beautiful.

We’ve been impatiently waiting for this one to ship, and now that it’s here, the craftsmanship does not disappoint.

The finish, the welds, the shape—this is one seriously good-looking exhaust.

But you guys know us… looking good isn’t enough.

Next step is getting it on the bike and strapped to the HDP Dynojet 250i to find out what it actually does where it matters.

How do you think it’s going to perform?

I don't even want these batteries in my shop..

His 7-month-old lithium battery exploded while the bike was sitting in the garage. 😳🔥 He got it outside just in time.. but look at the damage.

We have been a D&D Exhaust dealer and supporter for many years. Unfortunately, after what happened with a brand-new exhaust we just installed, that relationship is coming to an end.

We installed a new D&D exhaust on a customer's motorcycle. Before the motorcycle even left our shop, the chrome began peeling.

Not after a riding season.
Not after thousands of miles.
Before the bike ever left our shop.

We contacted D&D this morning and explained the situation. We asked them to send a replacement pipe so we could take care of our customer immediately and return the defective pipe to them.

We were told that we first need to remove and return the defective pipe to D&D, where it will be inspected before the replacement process moves forward.

That may be an acceptable warranty procedure for D&D.

It is NOT acceptable to High Desert Performance.

Our customer purchased a brand-new exhaust and paid us to install it. They should not be the one inconvenienced because that brand-new product failed before we could even deliver the motorcycle.

We have supported D&D for years, but we also have to stand behind the products we sell and protect the reputation of our shop.

If we cannot confidently tell a customer that a manufacturer will help us quickly correct an obvious problem with a brand-new product, then we cannot confidently sell that product.

Because of this experience, High Desert Performance will no longer recommend or install D&D exhaust systems.

That's not a decision we make lightly after doing business with a company for many years.

But our responsibility is to our customers first.
